The RZ is out of the running for a couple of reasons.
Range, notably - as bcrdukes mentioned this will be our primary vehicle. We only have space to keep two, and with the S2000 occupying one spot, the A4 will have to go. Another note is that we do not have charging at home. We have charging roughly 5 minutes walk away but that is Level 2. The Level 3 charger is 5 minutes drive away. I do have Level 1 charging at work and I do go in 2-3 times a week. Our complex is exploring installing shared Level 2 charging but that is yet to be finalized. I don't expect this to be in place for another year at the very soonest.
The fact that the RZ (along with the bz4x and the Solterra) have really bad range compared to their contemporaries means that they will require more charging occurrences. My wife takes transit to work and I drive to work, so I will be the primary driver. Work is approximately 12km away one-way. I figure on something between 40km to 60km daily normal usage depending on if I have to run errands/visit parents on both sides etc. We also do go down to Seattle to visit my brother, so less stopping on the road would be nice.
Second is price. Both the XC40 and the Q4 qualify for the rebates, which helps. They are also easily available used, which means that there is only 5% tax on them (or no tax if privately bought). RZ only qualifies for the federal rebate I think. Not sure if they are easily available used or not.
I agree with counting out the RZ in your case, especially since you're relying on public charging with long road trips in the mix. I throw it in as an option since it's a nice car for those looking for a well-built, comfortable commuter EV with access to home charging. The lower 2 trims of the RZ qualify for provincial rebates, plus Lexus gave out manufacturer incentives in the past as well.
My parents for one enjoy their RZ more than their Model Y - the ride quality, interior comfort, and mix of physical / touchscreen infotainment controls worked better for them. Their short drives with a home charging setup minimize the RZ's range/charging concerns, and I'm a happy camper because they're no longer panic-calling me for help with finding a function in the Tesla.
It also has the wrong charger type. For anyone looking to buy a non Tesla EV in the next 12-24 months, wait until your preferred vehicle has the NACS charger on it first.
I assume PHEV models will also update to NACS along with their EV counterparts when each manufacturer changes?

Lexus introduced the cheaper RZ300e FWD, but not sure if it's coming to Canada.
It will have more range than the AWD counterpart, about 420km if you opt for the 18s. Taking the optional 20's drops it to about 360km

Some minor changes coming to the 2024 Model Y, specifically the base model.
Stealth Gray and Ultra Red are the new colors that replace the current existing gray and red, applies to all trims of Model Y
The big one has to do with the sound system. The existing base Model Y's come with 14 speakers, 2 amps, and a subwoofer. The 2024 models are downgraded to 7 speakers and 1 amp. No changes to the Long Range and Performance.
If the 7 speakers are anything like my Model 3 SR, they totally suck.

Yeah, this year Nanaimo created a bonded zone you have to go all the way around if you want to get to the Hullo Ferry. The Vin Fasts are pulled off their RORO there. It appears the have shipped quite a few over starting in the fall.
They have to be one of the worst values especially for a new brand trying to break into a market.
That didn't take long, supposedly spy shots of the upcoming updated Model Y.

In July, Toyota recalled more than 43,000 RAV4 Prime and Lexus NX450h+ PHEVs, citing a fire risk. Nearly 6,000 of them are in Canada. Toyota advises owners not to charge their vehicles in “cold” temperatures – that means no charging in temperatures below 5 degrees until repairs have been completed.
