Pretty much all EV's are fast in a straight line. At some point, its just going to reach a point of diminishing returns (maybe it has already). After all, how fast do you need a car to accelerate before it becomes a safety concern for street cars with street tires and your average Vancouverite driving skills?

In what time continuum is a Kia EV ever going to be legendary lol
The Supra wasn't famous because it was the fastest car in the world or faster than a Ferrari. It became a cult classic because of... the movie and the tuning capabilities that garnered a cult following. I don't think a disposable first-ish generation Kia EV is going to have that same status any time soon.

In the same time continuum a used Civic SI sells for 30K USD.

I can see kids getting used EV's from there parents and then modifying them.

I see kids not driving or electrocuting themselves, or burning the house down in your continuum.

There are 2 Lucid Air at my kids Elementary School, I dunno enough about them to know which versions they have. Honestly looks dope in the sea of Teslas so lol

Between just for your entertainment, I texted my Tesla rep about the new Y Performance, here is the response regarding my base rwd 3.

I paid $54,810 out the door for the car on Feb 03, 2023 (so exactly 1 year ago).

Your Trade-In Estimate

Trade-In Vehicle
2023 Tesla Model 3
Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive

Odometer 21,723 km

Trade-In Estimate

$28,000

Your trade-in value estimate is determined using the vehicle details and accident history you provided. This estimate is reflective of market conditions at time of request and is not a final offer.

==================================================

I was telling my wife I am hoping for $40K trade in, thats puts me at $45K with tax savings, and losing $10K over 1 year seems reasonable... and then the $28K offer comes back lololol.

If they did offer 38K to 40K I would paid the non-refundable deposit already lol...I can probably fish for a buyer around $42K on Facebook judging what other people are asking, but too much hassle.

Welp, guessing I just have to drive the car to the ground now lolol

I submitted my trade in about two weeks ago

2019 Model 3 SR+
74,244km

They offered $27,000

I submitted another one, so let's see how much of a low ball it's going to be

He won't regret it.

A friend of ours has a Cayenne Turbo. They needed a second car, so I convinced them to buy the MYP. They drive the Cayenne so little now that they need to add gasoline stabilizer as they've had engine light coming on. And upon checking at dealer, it was condensation in gas tank or something like that.

They hardly drive the Porsche now even for hockey trips to Kamloops/Kelowna and only use it when both of them need to drive.

I wish we could get those diesels here. I'd love to have one of those new Defenders without a mild hybrid system that's just waiting for the warranty to expire.

Driven a Y and an S and a 3

I’ve never been in a Cayanne turbo but I’ve been in many newer P cars and I’d almost guarantee the comfort, ride, sound system, spaciousness, are infinitely superior in the Porsche.

Couple that with never having to worry about stopping to charge? It’s a pretty simple choice.

Yeah driven both, the MYP is nothing to write home about, all it can do is go really fast in a straight line. Nothing else about it really impressed me. The one I test drove was supposed to be the improved suspension one where it wasn't as stiff and didn't crash over bumps as much. Still much too stiff imo.

I test drove a current Cayenne e-Hybrid. It is a solid car and the transition between e power and gas power is quite good.

I also test drove a X5 45e. Not quite as good as the Cayenne but still feels better than the Tesla.

At the end of the day the MYP was a "new car" in the sense that it's been test driven by probably 2 dozen people and a dozen employees, but it drove like a 3 year old car with an interior imo that rivals a Highlander in terms of build and material choice. I'm not saying the Highlander has a bad interior, but it's no Cayenne or BMW.

The cayanne is double the price.

If you only said 25% of that was added value it would still be a better vehicle

It’s a Porsche, you’re gonna sit in the seat and feel Motorsport history and a turbo charged V8? Or on the flip side you could lose your wallet in a panel gap? Lol

I test drove the MYP last year before the half dozen price drops. The out the door price was 106k. it's something like 70k + tax now and it qualifies for the rebate as well.

106k is still significantly cheaper than a Cayenne (135k as optioned), but it's also not quite the same class of vehicle as the Cayenne and X5 are both bigger. Back then though 106k put it within spitting distance of the X5 edrive though and I would take the X5 every single time.

It is very easy to tell from the list who has a mortgage and family, and who is still living at home with the sole expense of cellphone plan besides the vehicle.

I actually have alot of respect for our lot guys, most don't have to work, they are the intl students that "ahem" our govt is trying to prevent, living in high rises and paid cash for their cars because they have no credit history, or student visa blah blah blah, but hey, they are working, and working hard~~ so you know... total respect lol

Trust me I can also drive something posh if I lived with my parents and had no wife or kids lolol~~

Yes, very jelly, but also at the same time, it really hits you when half your team's driver license starts with 200X as their birth year~ Like the guy who just ordered the MYP, moving on from his R, he is turning 25 this year...lol

What the fuck when I was a lot boy at BMW I had a 1994 Taurus wagon and the other guy there had a broken ass non-turbo 300ZX. We both lived at home.

It doesn't matter if they live at home, there's NO way a lot boy wage pays for S4/5/7... that's all parents money and they're doing a job because their parents threatened them that they had to.
