I dunno if Honda is saving the sound insulation for Acura but every honda I driven has above normal NVH compared to other manufacturers in the price range.

My '05 C230 is way quieter on the highway than my '20 Accord lol, that's with 19 year old engine mounts, suspension, etc.

MPG is obviously well in favor of the modern car, but still, very shocking.

If your name is not already on the list....

But yes, if they are being offered one, that is probably as good as it gets. We are all letting go of our NHL Editions at MSRP

GC is luxury compared to the CRV though.

So my buddy has a relatively new model Y, he just used his free month of the full self driving mode, he’s like fuck he might be interested if it wasn’t so embarrassing, he said using self driving in Toronto he calls it douche bag mode lol

Said it will drive itself up to the very front of merge lanes and try to get in at the last minute, will use a shoulder lane which is to take an off ramp to go up a few space and then merge back in etc. lol

There's rumours Tesla will work on a cheaper Tesla to increase demands. $25k USD is the target. We know what happened with the model 3 target... But anyways, if you were to cut costs to hit the $25k target, what could you see cut from the model 3 to reach that target?

The cheaper car will be on a new platform. The same platform as the robotaxi from what I hear.

Also quite a bit smaller, think Yaris Hatch etc etc but with a much smaller battery of around 300km per charge to hit target retail price.

already only needed a smaller battery to move a smaller vehicle, on top of cutting range to make the battery even smaller will be the main reduction for production cost.

As a city vehicle which is more than enough + it still gets support of the supercharger network.

The MDX is pretty quiet but the rest of the Acura lineup is pretty meh when it comes to road noise - the Integra comes with no more sound proofing than the Civic for example. NVH has never really been a priority for Honda/Acura - their cars are generally lighter than the competition and this is one area where they save 50lbs.

For one, probably no frunk. There's nothing really important in the front. If they can remove it and make it a blunt front end and still pass crash tests, I can see them doing that.

Probably other little things like no glass roof, smaller motors, smaller wheels and tires, smaller brakes, it all cascades.

i didn't think they'd make it that small, i was thinking maybe like a hatch similar to a golf or impreza hatch, but i guess the smaller it is the cheaper/feasible it'll be.

A $25K EV car that is fun to drive, has personality or charm (cuteness factor), 350-400 kms range, as a 2nd commuter car would tick a lot of boxes. Other car is convenitonal ICE ... in this case, no need for a Hybrid (which seems to be the current rage). I see if you only have one car why you'd go hybrid but 1 ICE, 1 commuter EV for the avg 2 car family ... good combo.

I'm not sure battery prices can drop quickly enough to make a $25k EV with 350-400km of range feasible yet. The Honda e (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_e) had a 35 kwh battery with 210k of range (WTLP testing so very optimistic) so figure a 70kwh battery to get 400km of range? That's $7-9k of battery (https://www.visualcapitalist.com/vis...atteries-cost/).

It's a dichotomy right?

Unless you had no car to begin with, gotta drive a fair bit to get the savings of a hybrid / EV.

and If you're driving or stuck in traffic a lot, you'd want comfortable seats/low noise

The one exception being NimH Toyota Hybrid where the rebuilds are $1-2k and the upcharge was only $1k.

Whether you drive lots or a little, pack failures seem to start around the 8-10 yr mark.

You have to remember he owned a Masterti, so he's immune to Italian reliability.

Tesla already delivered on the 25k EV ... the used Model 3s from Hertz are like 16k USD

Must be under 25k selling price to get a 4k EV credit from fed gov.
Max gross income of 150k.

Practically speaking...
18k/25k CAD: high mileage SR+ Model 3
21k/29 CAD: a moderately high mileage LR AWD Model 3
36k: New Model Y
39k: New Model 3 RWD
46k: New Model 3 Performance

https://www.hertzcarsales.com/certif...4eaf2cff38.htm
https://www.hertzcarsales.com/certif...9c8159cb3b.htm

TBH unless you like live in Surrey/Delta/PoCo and drive a TON, if it's a leisure or 'around Richmond' kinda car, go buy this 18k CAD E46 M3 6MT and call it a day.

no way, isn't that the target price for the model 2 they are planning to release in a few yrs?

if they can get a tesla for $30-35k OTD, they will steal plenty more customers shopping in the compact or mid size sedans including myself most likely. That is if the cars are in stock just like their current models.

a tesla vs a base model civic or corolla, almost like a no big brainer at that point, not much to lose. It's also very hard to get a civic or corolla right away here in Canada, dealers always playing the waiting game smh...
