Yesterday my ratrolla sales guy text me out of the blue.

He says they have quite a few PHEV RXs. If you’re looking to copy evofire but don’t want a crystal dildo shifter and more reliability, go see Kennard Wong at regency Lexus. Tell him the fat fuck in the blue ratrolla sent you and he’ll give you a good deal. I have zero interest in referral money so you can ask him to take my referral money and knock it off your deal as well.

Why no trade in wife's Canadian built RX for it and experiment with EV?

Badhobz 07-21-2024 09:19 AM

i asked her the same thing. but she says she likes her 4th gen RX. That thing has 80,000 km on it already and its a 2018 car. shocking considering she's a lousy housewife and doesn't work

Meh just use the excuse everyone makes to justify an EV, "it saves money."

You should test drive one and give a review!

Goodddaaammmnnn, I mean the good thing is there seems to be only 1 package, so basically pick your color and go...

But holymoly, the thing is $100k, I guess thats cheap considering a base X5 is also $100K....

Man, I like the RX, I also like PHEV, but $100K.... man, need to up my game LOL I cant afford that shit~

Most defn not saving money with PHEV when you spend $100K, its just I like the idea of EV driving... even if its just 40KM at a time looool

RabidRat 07-21-2024 04:48 PM

Wtf it's $100k?!

Isn't that with the same thrashy 2.5L 4-cyl out of the RAV4 with the motorboat CVT? With on-demand little e-motors on the rear axle to make AWD, summing up to a total of a whole 300hp?

It's a great drivetrain in a RAV4, but in a flagship RX that's embarrassing. What is Toyota doing.

radeonboy 07-21-2024 05:30 PM

Lexus saved the V6 PHEV powertrain for their flagship TX model.

Yes ! :fullofwin:

So what are you exactly paying for here ?!?! I had that rx350 for a rental and by the end of the day I wanted to drive it into the ocean. It’s a mockery of everything that was Lexus.

The pricing feels nuts but at the same time a XC60 PHEV is $87k comparably equipped so just a $5-7k diff for faster but smaller car.

dark0821 07-22-2024 07:47 AM

Fook I am drinking the cool-aid LOL

Honestly before BC Rebate changed the rules last month, that Model Y Performance in June with it $72,000 out the door after all fees and taxes with the full $9K rebate... what you get for $72K seems too good to be true~~

I can overlook some fit and finish issues at $72K (cant believe I am saying this out of my mouth LOL)

JDMDreams 07-22-2024 09:23 AM

^^ fit and finish is still better than lawsuits for junk motors and scratched batteries :joy::troll: and it's been out for so many years so all the kinks pretty much has been ironed out. That Chinese fit and finish is better than fat ass Americans.

Manic! 07-22-2024 06:13 PM

120cad for the cyberbeast seems cheap

RabidRat 07-22-2024 08:13 PM

For 100k, the Cybertruck seems like a bargain when you compare against an RX450h+ lol

underscore 07-22-2024 08:43 PM

why the heck would you be comparing those?

Well one is $100K + tax

One is $100K taxed in...

Such an Elon move to move it just under the luxury tax LOL...

Frikkin Genesis GV80 Coupe $104,000 starting... like WTF that $4K screws the Genesis over... and you know the GV80 MSRP is inflated, because someone decided that all Canadian Spec GV80 Coupe will get 2 full sets of tires, 5 years of free tire storage and free 10 tire swaps (2 swaps per year), because it is shipped with summer tires, we care about Canadians and will also give a winter set....

TypeRNammer 07-23-2024 12:50 AM

I won't be an early adapter on the R2 but that will more than likely be my next vehicle. It's little things like the rear side windows being able to be vented or the hatch window going down that I really like about it.

JDMDreams 07-23-2024 07:57 AM

Frisker Ocean already has that, the California mode looks pretty cool

AstulzerRZD 07-23-2024 08:16 AM

Rivian's really become the new IT car in the Hamptons and Aspen, similar positioning to the Defender. =
Tesla becoming the New Jersey / Bay Area Camry has really done a number on the brand

JDMDreams 07-23-2024 10:07 AM

I thought it was lucid, I wonder if a used lucid is any good

AstulzerRZD 07-23-2024 10:09 AM

I think the Lucid is more of a city car ... and attempting to replace the S class is a tall order.
Still seems like a niche product even with the $700/mo leases.

Adventure cars on the other hand I think were ripe for disruption. Land Rover hung on despite awful reliability, 4Runners/Land Cruisers were positively ancient and a dog to drive, Bronco/Wranger a lil too downmarket.
I learned to drive in a 4Runner and the first time I drove a Wrangler, I had no idea why people were complaining about steering/whatever - 4XE was practically a sports car compared to 4R.

68style 07-23-2024 10:48 AM

^ That made me lol

... and it's true

Also Fuck Tesla and their CEO, buy a Rivian or a KDM from dark
