Power: I didn’t step on it on my short trip. Dealership straight back home. I wasn’t expecting it to be fast.
I was aiming for Luxury & Comfort. Don't ask me how it handles & stuff
I had a bad experience with my last BMW vehicle. So I picked the safest bet

Congrats!
How does it compare to your RAV4 Prime? Do they make the drivetrain a lot quieter?

I am going to Modellista this | Sounds like my take on my X5. It's a giant couch. Drove my friend today and he's like, it's a couch even in sport mode.

I am going to Modellista this | Aye that’s the best part about the rx. That laminated acoustic glass is amazing. Every time I get in my wife’s RX I’m shocked at how quiet it is inside. Compared to hitlerbox the isolation and insulation is incredible.
Truly a luxury car experience even if it’s jacked up a foot taller than a ES sedan. But it has the same smoothness and quietness. Quote:

Top up it’s about as quiet as the RX. Very minor wind noise even at highway speeds. It’s an engineering miracle.
It’s very much an old school Toyota product where they built it to a standard and not to a price point. Although the 2024 changes with that tacked on touchscreen really looks quite jarring and half assed.

I am convinced. We're getting a Canadian-VIN RX.

And since it's been hot, the tires doing that sticky peeling noise on the joint glue on roads is especially noticeable. Probably doesn't help it's on steamrollers.

As much as I want to love the new RX, the beluga front end and electronic rear door handles is such a turn off.

The supercharger network is still the best selling feature for Tesla. Thankfully, a lot of other cars will start to have access to it soon.
This weekend, we travelled from Langley to Logan Lake and decided to take my wife's VW id4 as it has more space to bring things vs the model 3. On the way up, we stopped at the Electrify Canada (EC) station in Hope. They only have a total of 4 chargers and they were all being used when we showed up. After waiting for 5 minutes, we plugged in and walked around Hope. All in all, pretty good so far.
We decided to stop in Merritt to eat and top up before making our final run to Logan Lake. The EC station here is in the far end of a Canadian Tire parking lot. When we arrived, as before, all 4 chargers were in use. Someone walked up to us and told us that 2 of the chargers were not working though so we had a good 30 minute wait ahead of us. When we finally did get a charger, the first one we used, wasn't working so we switched to another one. Eventually we got the second one working and it wouldn't past 75-80 KW even though it showed it would do up to 350 kw.
Once we got to our destination, we plugged into the campsite at 110v for the weekend and we were at 100% when we left today.
Because of our experience in Merritt, we decided to go straight to Hope on the way home. We pulled in and had a short 10 minute wait for one of the 4 chargers. When we did plug in, the first charger we used, wasn't in service. The second one did work though and got us enough to get home.
Overall, the EA experience showed me how superior the Supercharger network is over anything else. Even when it comes to the simple handshake between the network and the car, it's just easier with the Tesla. I can't say my next EV will be a Tesla, (Elon Musk is getting insufferable with his purchase of Twitter and inserting himself in the election cycle down south), but whatever i get, it will have the NACS plug built into it.

^ It's precisely why we opted for the PHEV. The Model 3/Y is too small for us and the X is too expensive. The iX suffers from the same charging/range anxiety that I don't want to deal with, on top of not always being able to dictate our own schedule with the kids.
I'm curious what the winter range on the X5 is going to be since the heater is coming off the battery as well, wonder if my 60km range is going to drop to 40km.

At least it's not the BZ4X which averages 40ish kW and limits you to 3 max charges a day.
I've hit 250kW on a rental EV6 without thinking/preconditioning.
Harder to hit on rental Model 3 SR/LR... really have to roll in with low battery and usually average 100kW.
350kW is more of a GM truck thing I feel like in the EV world, how 'good' a powertrain is has gone from being at power to how quickly/reliably it charges, how efficient the heating is, and how good the app is. [/IMG]
Mercedes just put in 500kW chargers near me, idk what is gonna use em but we'll have to see.

Re: Mercedes charger - which cars can use their charging network?
I saw them for the first time when I was at Buc'ees in Richmond, Kentucky. Ironically, being a massive gas station, nobody charged their vehicles there.
