One-make racing is great—just look at the Mazda MX-5 Cup. That series puts on some of the most exciting motorsport you’ll ever see. Equal machinery with little to no room for adjustments forces drivers to hone their skills and battle each other on merit, and that’s exactly why the Toyota Prius PHEV Racing Series also recently caught my attention.

Waiting for AstulzerRZD to defend this stupidity.

AstulzerRZD 12-15-2024 09:22 AM

Hybrids are dumb lol

Japan got cucked by Hyundai on their home turf:

^^ I wonder why cuz you don't see any Korean cars in Japan at all. I saw more centuries than Korean cars. The only ones I saw were ionic 5 but they were taxis. Same with Tesla I saw like less than 5 Teslas :fulloffuck:

noclue 12-15-2024 02:34 PM

It’s also super rare to see samsung phones there too.
They sure love their german cars in LHD to flex though

AstulzerRZD 12-15-2024 03:01 PM

Are they trying to attract Formula E?
Is Fuji trying to be more EV ready for when Toyota/Honda ship solid state batteries?

bcrdukes 12-16-2024 06:29 AM

I was referring to the Tesla fogging up.

AstulzerRZD 12-16-2024 07:19 AM

Is the way y’all think I like Teslas and their drivers

Waymo solved self drive while Tesla bros still circlejerkinf FSD.

Cybertruck is a POS - buying ine us natural selection to ur health, social life, and finances.
It’s the Nissan Sentra Turbo with big wing and flame decals of pickups.

Leisure wise, anyone not in a Rivian or EQG just has bad taste.
Utility wise, Silverado/Sierra has 2X range, charges 2.5X faster, software is just as good.

Badhobz 12-16-2024 07:38 AM

what did you say about my nissan SENTRA!?!!??!?!!?

DEM BE FIGHTING WORDS YOU CLOWN !!!!!

68style 12-16-2024 08:05 AM

I like Rivian as a company and their designs are good... but everyone I know who has one is just endlessly dealing with difficulties as a beta tester on a very expensive purchase. I wouldn't say it's a lack of taste that keeps you out of one of those.

underscore 12-16-2024 08:22 AM

I still can't get past thos weird nostril lights Rivian uses

Is fair - the Rivians do be pretty problematic.
Their charging/ride quality need some work.

I just cringe at the idea of someone showing up to Aspen in a CyberTruck - that’s like wearing all birds and Skims to a 2 star restaurant

AstulzerRZD 12-16-2024 08:37 AM

Thought this was dope:

Rivian needed only 12 weeks to retrofit its zonal hardware design and integrated technology platform on the Audi prototype. Rivian demonstrated its software's ability to control the vehicle's core functions, different drive modes, and infotainment features. It also established remote control of the demonstrator and performed over-the-air updates

RIP Audi Q8 E-Tron + Sportback - they're being discontinued due to the factory's impending closure.

I tried one last year and thought they were decent cars, but didn't feel anything like a $110k+ car as tested.

Quote:

While Volkswagen Group is still considering whether to close factories in Germany, Audi has taken this drastic decision in Belgium. The factory in Brussels will close up shop at the end of February. Consequently, the Q8 E-Tron and Q8 E-Tron Sportback are being wiped out from the lineup. Due to poor sales, the two large electric SUVs are not generating enough demand to keep the plant open.

[...]
Founded in 1949, the plant has over 3,000 employees and is claimed to be the "world's first carbon-neutral high-volume production plant in the luxury segment.

I feel like they're good values used - nicer than the Q4 with similar ish range.

They have terrible packaging. I really liked them until I test drove one. Cramped on the front seat area, not very large back seats, tiny ass trunk, no frunk. They sell it as a larger vehicle but the practicality side of it is worse than a Q5.

I was also expecting a snappy drivetrain considering it's an EV, but it's got this ramp up thing going on with the throttle and it takes a bit until you get full power. Bothered the shit out of me. The second screen for handling climate and other functionality was also terrible to use.

Great idea, terrible execution.

JDMDreams 12-16-2024 10:17 PM

Isn't it a cayenne/ toureg/ urus?

EvoFire 12-16-2024 11:43 PM

The etron is a different car. They only renamed it etron like 2 years ago just so they can confuse the shit out of you. It used to be just Audi etron when it came out, and there was a 45 and a 55 to denote power and battery.

AstulzerRZD 12-17-2024 06:55 AM

Etron has motor and battery issues, avoid.
Q4 can’t recommend - slower charging, app/user accounts don’t work,

Q6/Macan is easy recommend.
Like Ioniq/Silverado, finally EVs convenient like a gas car + make ur life easier:

- beast charging is critical for winter/road trips, 2X faster than Model Y
- plug in at ANY %, at 80% is charging faster than Model Y at 30%.

- in car route/charging planner now more accurate than Tesla
- does plug and charge like Tesla (no app needed) + access to superchargers in 2025

- super dope HUD makes driver assist so ez, Android automotive App Store work well tgt.
- Android automotive means Google Maps in ur instrument cluster

Dominoes are falling - Nissan and Honda merging, will include Mitsubishi since Nissan owns a 25% share.

Stellantis will need to declare bankruptcy and slash a few brands next.

Ford is on borrowed time and money.

JDMDreams 12-17-2024 07:03 PM

Where did you hear Honda Nissan merge? I mean that's not a bad thing. Finally a 400hp Odyssey? Tlx type r? They all have decent engine building and AWD know how. K20 manual AWD rvr? Ralliart x Nismo x Mugen. Gtr with VTEC :megusta:

My next bets:

Nissan's ePower will get scaled up and power next Odyssey, Pilot, and MDX.
Next CRV offers gas, hybrid, and electric options.
Next GTR and Lancer Evo will probably share an EV platform.
Honda are first to market with solid state battery … in NSX or MDX.
All 3 continue to not have a competitive high margin luxury brand.

Software wise, Honda learns from GM and adopts Android automotive.
A tech exec from a North American subsidiary gets tapped to fix software.
They hire Kyle Vogt to lead Japanese self driving.

All of this will take too long but Japanese gov will bail them out.
