I was driving behind a new electric Chrager this morning and was surprised by how loud the "exhaust note" was that was coming from the external speakers. It reminded me of the way a muscle car would sound on an old PlayStation game like Driver.
The looks are not bad front end stolen from the new Prius
I feel like I’m gonna be torn with my next vehicle with doing something responsible like Crown, RDX, Venza, or the irresponsible thing and get the vehicle I actually want in a Macan.. lol
All the Toyotas just seem like old man vehicles

Cayennes don't seem that big, and I thought ppl were suckers for buying mecan cuz isn't it just a Tiguan with more boost? It's like the cla 2 series of Porsche.
If anyone is considering a Macan, try very hard to only consider the 2019+ models. The 2018 and older models have a major servicibility issue where the whole frickin front end needs to come off, so you're looking at 10+ hours' worth of labour. I think there is a belt / retainer / follower (or something) change that is part of regular maintenance that necessitates this insane disassembly.
The earlier models also have some fluid leak issue that also requires the front end to come off.
The 2019+ updated cars do not suffer from this problem.

Been thinking about a macan GTS, does the whole front end no longer need to come off in their redesign? usually they don't make the newer ones easier to work on haha! I actually have a hoist but prefer not to spend 2 weeks fixing my car when needed.

I test drove the Crown, and it's easily one of my favourite vehicles for a daily driver.
1. You will not get best in class luxury. Gotta be realistic.
2. You will not get best 0-60 times. It's a Crown.
3. It's near, if not, Lexus quality. Pretty damn quiet and smooth ride.
Expensive, for a Toyota. But likely reliable. I'm unsure of the engine's longevity, but it appears it's an engine that's been used in previous models, so it's tried, tested, and true.
Do the irresponsible thing and get the Macan. Live life with no ragrets.

Yeah, what a total POS. Do the right thing and get the Macan.

It would be a lot more attractive if it was paired with the 2GR for me. I don't have a whole lotta faith with Toyota's current generation of engines. None of the turbos seem to work right/well and they all deliver uncompetitive power and economy and reliability.
Aren't people also complaining about the 2GR about it being old?
I can't speak to power, but on my test drive, it seemed okay to me, but I also don't have an X5M or whatever to compare to. Fuel economy to me is subjective, so negligible. Reliable...Hard to say but I'm angry that my Toyota hasn't broken yet. Wish I had a BMW for that crazy GF experience.
I guess you can't have it all with Toyota.

Start at the 15:00 mark, and it'll go into detail of how the OG Macan had an engine + accessories placement in the engine bay such that there is no room in there to work on anything. Unfortunately, stuff still needs servicing, and sometimes things break, so the only way to gain access to the serviceable parts is to disassemble the whole front end.
If you start at the 16:40 mark in the video, the Porsche tech goes into detail to describe some of these problems, and shows a picture of a disassembled front end. That really made me think the engineers didn't think the whole thing through LOL~
(Serviceability? What the heck is serviceability?)
Cars from the 2019+ updates received new engines that sat further back in the engine bay, so that freed up enough room to service the car without disassembling everything in front.

It seems like the 2019+ cars have had the common problems addressed, and the only issues that remain are cosmetic. Also, IMO the 2019+ cars are still new enough that they don't really have a lot of problems yet.
I seem to remember the OG Macans had a/some production runs that had a weak transfer case. It wasn't mentioned in the PCA video, but if you search for it in Rennlist, there should be a lot of good info on it. Again, the updated cars don't seem to suffer from this problem, but whether it is simply due to them being much newer, or whether the problem was fixed at the source, I don't know.

why else would you suffer this sort of unreliability and expensive maintenance on a daily driver? are you INSANE!? just buy a RX (2gr generations) and shut the fuck up.
Ohhhh no no no badhobz, they drive really good. YEAH REALLY FUCKING GOOD TO T&T and COSTCO.
ohh noo no no hobzy, you don't get it its the best handling SUV. YEAH SO IS YOUR sisters CUNT, but use case scenario doesn't apply to SUV's you wack job. you ain't going to track a 4500lb SUV.

Do you truly own an authentic VAG car if it doesn't require an engine out service every 5-6 years?

I know you are mostly being sarcastic, but going RX -> X5 -> Cayenne is a big difference.
I've driven a 2GR RX quite a bit, I think one gen older than yours. I simply cannot with that suspension. Maybe for a 65 yr old it's good but the crashing and wallowing is unacceptable. I have yet to drive one of the new F Sport ones, they are supposed to be better.
The X5 doesn't have the best body control and rolls a little too much, but having driven a F15 diesel and my G05 PHEV, the G05 improved a lot on steering. It's a big step up from the RX for roughly the same money. All the of the engine offerings on the X5 are world class right now. In the last gen a big up on the RX was it had a 3rd row, which is a TX now.
The Cayenne is on another level. I get you, why do you need a sports car to go to the mall, but if you can why not? Even my wife can feel a difference and says the Cayenne drives well. Just not 30% in MSRP more for her.
All 3 are offered with PHEV now, with the RX having the strongest electric portion, X5 having the strongest engine, and Cayenne splitting the middle. But if you get a pure gasser, the RX is completely out of contention except maybe for price. The X5 is pretty damn good now in terms of reliability, I don't know about the Cayenne. That platform has always bee questionable but it didn't stop me from shopping it.
