Eh....

I am in the other boat, as a product I think the new 3 is great... still very competitive for our market... was just hoping it can be cheaper~~~

anyways guys... updates..........

================================================== ============================================

Prices are after tax including all fees

The last two 2024 units

Both Ultimate trim
Both Black on Black (sigh...)

But $7,000 manufacture rebate
0% financing up to 5 years
0.99% financing for 6 years
1.99% financing for 7 years
or
3.29% to 4.29% leasing pending term and milage...
though the residue has fallen off so not sure how competitive the payments are

I'm pretty sure the Nazi who was involved with them is dead. Or in Argentina. Opinions vary.

Latest BC budget will start to charge PST on secondhand EV purchases

whitev70r 03-05-2025 06:19 AM

boo ... instead of removing all PST on 2nd hand cars, they went in another direction. :failed:

Ugh... not the direction we'd like to see, but I guess they are desperate for the money, huh?

Dbone 03-05-2025 09:33 AM

I wonder what the percentage of second hand EV sales were to just avoid the PST on new cars. Tax on second hand cars is garbage, but I bet they saw how much bullshittery was going on and decided it had to stop.

EvoFire 03-05-2025 09:52 AM

I expected the PST exemption to be rolled back, hence why I bought my X5 last year. This just further depresses Tesla resale where they are hurting. Last year when I was shopping a few dealers already said they refuse to take Tesla on trade as they can't sell them. If push comes to shove they would take a trade if the owner was willing to take a 10k hit on the value.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Welp, there goes the loophole to trade in EQS/Taycan against exotics to save on 20%+ taxes

FUUUUUUUUUU

I guess I am not in that market anyways...

mikemhg 03-05-2025 04:32 PM

JFC, almost $80K for a small hatchback Hyundai EV?

Who the fuck is buying these things?

AstulzerRZD 03-05-2025 04:33 PM

Most of them are being sold as $300 leases down south

How did this work? Buy a used high dollar EV then immediately trade it in?

RabidRat 03-06-2025 04:31 AM

Can you trade in multiple vehicles at a time, too?

EvoFire 03-06-2025 07:20 AM

Last time I asked (which was a few years ago), yes

dark0821 03-06-2025 08:47 AM

Yes.... it happens way more often than you think... there is no upper limit, we have done 4 cars into 1 car before....

- Both adults are now WFH, want to trade 2 old cars into 1 newer car

- Eldery whose spouse passed, want to trade 2 cars into 1 car

- People career went down hill/just money savings in general, need to trade daily + weekend into 1 car that is still pratical with a little bit of fun

- People who went thru divorce and got 2 cars from court and doesnt need 2 cars

- Inheritance, doesnt need the cars, but good opportunity to upgrade

68style 03-06-2025 03:21 PM

So much work to avoid PST, move to Calgary simple :troll:

Manic! 03-06-2025 04:37 PM

It's actually real!!! 500 HP, can fit 5 people, fit 4x8 sheets of plywood, The size of an Mini Cooper. If it comes into production they will sell a butt load of these.

JDMDreams 03-06-2025 05:12 PM

Do you actually have to move? Or you just need an address? What's stopping someone from flying over and buying a car the first day they are there, cuz they just "moved" there

You can't get AB registration/plates without showing your name attached to an address in Calgary... ie: a bank statement or property tax. If you can do that then there's nothing really stopping you to be honest.

I still have a BCDL, so I've just been using a bank statement which is surprising because you can change your bank address just to do that and then change it back? lol

AstulzerRZD 03-06-2025 05:39 PM

Can’t you just change the address and name on an Alberta utility bill?

68style 03-06-2025 05:52 PM

Yah honestly reg stuff seems pretty loosey goosey here compared to BC. If you got someone here who is willing to do it for you it wouldn't be hard to get away with.

Not sure how a claim would work though if you smucked up your ride.
