Saw a few new cars on the streets this week, saw a ioniq5 in front of a model y and it looks like they are the same size, way bigger than the hatch back design implies.

Then I saw a mx30 today, I barely noticed it until I saw the weird side doors. Looks super ordinary like any Mazda SUV.

Your map also clearly stated municipal HOV are not included.

It's not my map, it's a map of provincial highways from the provincial government so i'm pretty sure it's correct as they are the ones that issue the EVOK stickers. What is so hard to understand about this? At no time was I discussing municipal roads, just provincial highways. Each municipality can do what they want and residents of those areas would know more about them than I would. The map doesn't list what's going on on local roads in Burnaby or Vanderhoof but it doesn't make the map from the provincial government any less correct.

I've started to see a few VW ID.4's around the Langley area and it looks pretty nice. Once they start ramping up production in North America more I think it will be a serious contender in the small EV SUV market.

Totally agree, the ID4 is priced very well for the segment and people will tend to go towards VW than Hyundai or Kia.

I recall reading that the VW ID4 had a lot of software bugs initially. But they must have fixed or it's not that hard to fix and update the software?

6thGear. 02-02-2022 07:28 AM

ID.4 looks much better in person than in photos. Other then the Y ID.4 is also a consideration for us.

!Aznboi128 02-02-2022 07:50 AM

It looks better but imo still an egg. Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 still looks better in my eye.

I was just looking at the VW site, it's reasonably priced compared to its competition.

Makes me wonder how the Toyota BZ4X and Subaru Solterra are going to be priced out.

Tesla doesn't scrap it, and I got more out of the beater than $3000, and saved another car from the scraper :awwyeah:

Yeah too bad Teslas can't do scrap it. But my wifes old ass accord still sits on her dads driveway and scrapping it literally is ending its misery.

They severely neutered the scrap it program. I think you only get a few hundred dollars now compared to a few thousand before.

I was just at a Kia dealer yesterday to place a deposit on a Soul EV and asked about the EV6. They anticipate the first units to arrive around April.

I'll probably stick to my Soul EV though, the lease payments on these are good and I can't imagine the EV6 payments to be comparable.

And for the ppl considering none Tesla EVs, will they be able to ota update the car for you? Or will you have to go to the dealer, I was testing a 21 leaf and they still had software glitches in the radio/ cluster on the test drive that the sales guy said it was a glitch and needed an update :lawl:

I guess that's still the way the traditional makers build their cars.

I thought the 8k rebates is based on the base model MSRP. Therefore, the ionic 5 and EV6 will still qualify?

You need a base model under 45k and the upper trim can't be more than 55000.

The Federal $5,000 should qualify for all trim levels according to the video below from an Ontario dealer, while the $3,000 BC rebate will not qualify for any trim above $55,000.

So the lowest 3 trims will hav $8k rebates, while the top 2 will have $5k.
