Went to my daughter classmate's bday party, all the parents said they never see me, I am like yea... cuz I have a full time job that is pretty much the same as the school session times lol...
In the end, out of like a 26 kids class (mainly asian fob dominant), my wife told me only me and one other family works from her observation.
Everyones is talking real estate investment and scheduling golf/snookers after dropping off kids, and i am just there nodding like I knew what was going on
Then the big reveal, We are getting like the least child benefit payments because I work and pay taxes LOL... while everyone else is "poor" because they are low income in their 80K cars...

That's pretty much us. We make more so we can afford things but we have to forgo all the support programs. I guess I am lucky in the sense that all our close friends work and work hard to pay for their things. Like minded ppl group together?
I wonder if we will see the same problem where we live now in Vancouver. Ppl around me in the neighbourhood don't work. Though since we WFH fulltime, they probably think we don't work. My neighbour actually asked why I was home all day long.

Each kid under 18 ... you get like $7000/yr, I think. So 5 kids is a pretty good coin! $35K/yr.
And if you get in on the RESP, gov't will also subsidize their post-secondary education!

I grew up like this. My parents didn't want to defraud the government because of ethics. Everyone told them they were dumb. So we grew up too rich to get subsidies, but too poor for actual regular dental checkups.

I know 10+ people I went to HS with who’ve never worked a job who have basically milked the system and had welfare benefits and payments of parents grow ops etc. driving 80k vehicles and owning homes etc. where’s the next meal what’s going on next weekend as opposed to ever working any sort of job lol

There's also a ton of undocumented people working on real estate construction who are housed in high end buildings by the half or 3/4 dozen by shady landlords. Can't talk about that either...
Not quite Dubai levels but hey, I'm sure we'll get there.
Those people are actually working though, undocumented or not.
The cases I referenced are people “working” for sham companies simply washing money. They say all these people are seasonal workers and pay them for simply being part of the scam then after the required EI employment period they are laid off and get the full EI benefits until they are “re-hired” by a different company and go through the same cycle. No one is ever working a day in any of these scenarios lol. Homes and vehicles in other peoples names for tax purposes, get everyone involved getting child care benefits and every single hand out they can driving Tesla’s and BMW’s lol

I feel like in most contemporary reviews, Toyota's usually fall short of some competitors in certain features, materials, or ride + handling. But in the used market, they are generally more solid buy because of their reliability.
I would never buy an ID.4 just because of how much awful tech crap they put in.

I just received my replacement EV HOV decal. I don't really need it, but the original is faded quite a bit. When I decide on another EV, I don't want to wait a long time to get a new decal. My replacement will go on right away. Always have a spare on hand. It costs nothing.
