Richmond Toyota. Does anyone have any idea of Regency or Granville Toyota is any better?

68style 11-19-2022 08:12 AM

Lots of car salespeople are great, same with realtors… just a few give the industry a bad rep

Come buy a Mercedes from me. I will call you back as many times as you want. Hell, I'll even throw in a couple keychains and a umbrella in the deal. :D

trollface 11-19-2022 10:53 AM

Can i just have an umbrellas

dark0821 11-19-2022 06:42 PM

No comment... seriously though...

Sales dont make up the rules like this car needs a trade, this car is selling over MSRP, this car has to be sold under this and that etc etc....

99% of the time, the sales is on your side, all these conditions doesnt help the sales paycheque. We rather sell the car with no strings attached, as every car sold = more pay for us.

Badhobz 11-19-2022 07:41 PM

Oh for sure. Not blaming the sales, blaming these greedy ass dealerships who sets these restrictions. Whatever, ill keep camrying on.

Was looking at the federal EV rebate website

Interestingly enough, if the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime is officially rated for over 50km of EV driving, it qualifies for the full $5000 rebate.

Stack it together with the $2000 provincial rebate too

radeonboy 11-27-2022 08:43 PM

Saw the Prius yesterday at the LA auto show. The doors were locked so I couldn't get inside, but it looks somewhat futuristic with its door stop wedge shape.

Here's a bonus pic of the Ariya and ID Buzz (Euro Spec). The ID Buzz in particular was quite popular compared to other EVs.

this sucks i cant see a modern nissan and not immediately think rental car
yet bitch about how electric cars need to be more affordable

the buzz looks damn good though...hope that wheelbase translates to more space for battery capacity

The Euro version of the Buzz has the same mechanicals as the ID.4 so same battery. The NA version is supposed to be 10 inches longer so maybe it'll get a bigger battery but it's also quite pricey (and the single motor version is already slow in the Euro size).

Really like the Buzz, don't even care that it's slow.

That's right inline with the old bus right?

Cars in Europe are typically quite slow anyways, cars taking 10s to reach 100 is quite normal. They would also be happily cruising at 160, it just takes forever to get there.

I wonder what's taking Nissan so long to come up with the Ariya, I mean they are already EV experts considering they make the leaf so they definitely know how to put together an EV compared to mb BMW. I even see lots of ix rolling around already and they are quite ugly.

Probably a supply issue like with other manufacturers.

FWD models are supposed to be out now and AWD models are rolling out in early 2023

The iX isn't all that ugly when you get it in the right colour.

I was surprised at how much I liked the Ariya in person. The exterior looks futuristic without being too edgy, and the interior was comfortable and felt upscale. It had some nifty features like an electrically-adjustable center console and a pop-out tray from the dashboard that can hold items when stationary. The whole car felt thoughtfully designed and a solid competitor to the ID4 or Ioniq5 / EV6.

I would 100% take the Ariya over the Toyota BZ4X and Lexus RZ450e that were also at the show - those 2 feel so far behind compared to what everyone else is doing in the EV space.

Already saw an Ariya on the street in Japan. Maybe the NA market is just low-priority.

Toyota has always been miles behind so it's no surprised the Bz4x feels dated already.

twitchyzero 11-28-2022 11:48 AM

mr. toyoda just a month ago said he was very skeptical about EV rollout so it's a corporate culture thing

i think they were hoping to get decades out of TNGA and realized a good EV needs to be designed 100% ground up
