I still don't get why Hyundai is pushing ads for the Ioniq 5. 99% of the comments are people demanding for their cars or poking fun at their 3-4 year wait list.

Because the ads are subbed to a marketing company. All the ad space and contacts were signed. Use it or lose it.

Plus, you still want to get your product out there, this is the EV boom. You put your lines in the water when there are fish swimming.

The last thing you want to do is sit around while your competitors are telling everyone to buy theirs instead of yours because you wanted to save a few bucks not advertising.

5.99 is not an Hyundai specific issue, and the wait time isn't either.

don't stealerships have to sell at retail and not jack up the price?

or did they sell then buy-back and list it as "used" at whatever price they want?

i would think there are rules against greasy stuff

It was a used vehicle so I guess they can list it for any price.

Is it just me (cuz I’m on the waitlist), or is the Ioniq 5 wait time the longest/worst out of all the mainstream EVs?

Anyone using Stratford for their optional coverage with their EV vehicles? Browsing on Rivian and Tesla FB groups, this 3rd party insurance company is brought up from time to time.

I use Stratford for my ICE vehicle. No complaints thus far, although, I've never made a claim.

I've been with Stratford for 2 years on my model 3 and their price is by far the best i've come across and the customer service has been pretty good too. No issues so far.

Official pricing for the CX-90 is out: Mazda Announces Pricing and Packaging For First-Ever 2024 Mazda CX-90 - Feb 7, 2023 | Mazda USA News

Goes from $46-64k with the PHEV versions ranging from $55-64k, I'm assuming it's eligible for the $5k PHEV rebate on top of that.

It's competitors prices:

Honda Pilot: $53-65k
Kia Telluride: $53-63k
Acura MDX: $69-87k (includes Type S and starts at A-Spec trim)
Infiniti QX60: $57-70k

A 2023 RDX also goes for $57-63k (starts at A-Spec trim)

Lotta car for the money.

Wow the PHEV models are aggressively priced.

The mid model has a similar price compared to the Rav4 Prime but with 3rd row seats.

EDIT:

Still waiting on Toyota to release pricing on the Prius Prime

damn. good job mazda.

PHEV aimed squarely at that sweet spot market (at least in canada) the 60-70k range SUV.

Nicer than other mainstream brands (and about the same price) yet under cuts the euro "luxury " marques a bit.

Bravo.

plus..... its quite a bit better looking than the other Japanese equivalent product. Yes im looking at you Acura... for butchering your car designs.

Not only is Acura butchering their designs, but they're playing the conservative game way too hard, same goes with the Honda side of things too. It almost feels like they poached the car designers of the champaign colored Corollas

toyota and honda has reserved roles.

Toyotas I find more interesting nowadays because they are actually trying an effort to make it more appealing.

Honda besides the type R... really not much going on with their somewhat vanilla line up... The Accord has became more of a Taurus than anything nowadays.. not even an effort to make an Accord SiR (camry got TRD.. Taurus got SHO)

Just a heads up that Stratford starting Feb 1st, 2023 (a week ago) has stopped insuring Teslas, all together, all of those who bought it before Jan 31st are still good, it is only no new policys are being sold.

Having said that, switched from ICBC to Family Insurance @ Hub (I know their claim process is questionable at best), but been getting both sides of the story.

Same everything, the model 3 insurance went from $3610 @ ICBC to $1980 with Family Insurance Solutions Inc

0.54 driver factor
more than 15KM to work
3 mil / 300 / 300

God damn, but I guess never make a claim?

Love the pricing as a customer but Mazda is squeezing themselves. They've left little room for the upcoming CX70 in their lineup. Personally, I believe they've been too aggressive on the pricing and they're leaving $ on the table.

100%. If it's a luxurious as it looks and drives like a Mazda then it seems like they could move up by $10k and still win a tonne of business.

My buddy who took delivery of a model 3 last week and had it insured for approx 3k a year as well said because of the battery it's much easier to total-loss an EV in an accident in terms of the value of the car vs the cost to repair.
