isn't a PHEV the worst of both worlds? not a cheap vehicle though cheaper than full EV, because it still uses gas you still have ICE maintenance, b/c of the plug in option (vs a non-plug in hybrid), the battery replacement cost (whenever that'll be) is still expensive...am i missing something here?

i know my buddy's hybrid, he needed a new battery and it was say $700-ish, i'm thinking a non-plug in is more best of both worlds b/c better fuel efficiency but ya you still have normal maintenance...

I think it all depends on how you use your car. If you have a short commute and a place to charge at home, a PHEV could work mostly as a full EV with the gas motor as a backup. The smaller battery will have shorter charge times on L1 and L2 chargers. In the case of Toyota HSD, the gas engine should be less stressed, so it will probably be cheap to service and maintain. It's not like the regular maintenance on a (proven) Toyota 4 popper is going to cost much anyways.

The smaller batteries will be cheaper to replace in the future, and when the batteries do crap out, it won't become a complete brick, since it will just be a hybrid (AFAIK this applies to the regular Prius, and in theory, the same to the prime). You're also not lugging around hundreds of pounds of battery weight, so it'll probably be more efficient.

I think it depends on how you use it. I only have short trips so I'd only ever use the battery except for the odd road trip and the cost of a PHEV for what I want is likely cheaper than for an EV (a compact/mid-size SUV like my RDX - potentially a CX-70).

Actually with the PHEV qualifying for the incentive/rebates, a regular hybrid actually costs more, if we are talking about selling vehicles at MSRP.

For Hyundai

A Tucson PHEV is cheaper than a Tucson regular hybrid out the door.

A Santa Fe PHEV is cheaper than a Santa Fe regular hybrid out the door.

My own Prius Prime was $190 more than the Regular Prius of the same trim, once the gov rebate/incentive was applied. I got it while they were still at MSRP, so it was a no brianer to go for the Prime.

And as mentioned before in this thread, my prime might as well be a full EV, we use 1 tank per year, and that is us forcing to car to be in hybrid mode, as the commute everyday is literally less than the full EV range of the car. (22K on the ODO now, and we are on the 3rd tank of gas).

It's a chance to just test drive their press cars, like when I was at Audi we had the Audi Sport Event. Great chance to try the current whole EQ lineup, and I promise I won't call you to follow up lol. You can call me if you want to buy one

The EQS SUV will be there which is basically a larger EQE, let me know, my admin said we can get a couple more to sign up

^ Was not expecting Tesla to use another brands platform, but It will save them money since it is a "cheap" car after all.

If I am seeing things correctly, I think the photos are taken in Beijing -- the licence plate on the car to the right is almost certainly a Chinese licence plate, and I think it has the character "Jing" -- signifying Beijing -- as well.

It's clearly a fake.

The thing that really points it to a Tesla are the head/taillights. And if Tesla is having a mule outside testing... that'd be the first thing they are covering up.

US-spotted Model 3 Highland test vehicles all have their lights wrapped with cover.
