Possibly, but Lucid’s customers are also the kind of investors who’ve seen their portfolios hit hard with the recent tariffs. I imagine most are reluctant to splurge on a six-figure EV right now until the market settles. Lucid will have to stay afloat until that time comes.

How is the Taycan anyway? The Cross Turismo seems like a cool wagon.

Their big win is their wagon, charging domination (it’s not even funny how fast/consistent it is) and the badge.

The interior is hollow and I feel Lucid Air has a better driving feel.

My buddy in Calgary with the GT3 has a Taycan Turismo as his daily to replace a Model 3P he had from new... it's a pretty impressive looking vehicle. I haven't driven it, just ridden in it... but really like the styling and it seems to drive very nice with tonnes of cool features. Interior was not exotic blow you away but also way nicer and more interesting than a Tesla.

He said one of the downsides of it so far at least in Cowtown and surrounding areas is that the chargers he can use it on are often broken or not working, which can be a little disconcerting if the battery is getting lower.

Sheeeesh charging in Calgary is bad.
30 fast chargers and 5 good locations looks really challenging.

Squamish has 30+, Richmond has 50+, Surrey has 180+ fast fast chargers.
Seattle looks like it has 190.

I posted on another thread on revscence about choosing between a 2023 4S Taycan Cross Turismo and a 2025 BMW M3. One of my favorite things about the Taycan is I think it is one of the best looking vehicles currently available (especially in mamba green). The worst thing is the depreciation but that was expected when I bought it used last year with 10,000 km.

Yes! My buddy’s was slightly used as well… and by some weird paperwork screwup at the dealer he ended up getting it as Porsche certified used when it wasn’t supposed to be so he’s got bonus warranty on it too lol

I bought a $200 Lectron adaptor for our Tesla level 2 home charger for our Taycan and almost always charge at home. The charging speed with our Tesla charger is 42 km per hour for the Taycan compared to 67 km per our for our Tesla model 3 performance. I have used Electrify America for charging my Taycan (first 3 years of charging for the Taycan is free at Electrify America) in Squamish and Merritt and yes they suck compared to Tesla (only 4 stations, slow charging, and broken chargers). Fortunately with 350 km to 400 km range I have only had to charge outside of my home 3 times in the past year.

That is great your friend in Calgary got the additional 2 year CPO for free with his Taycan. The cost for the additional 2 year CPO warranty from Porsche is typically $3,200. Including CPO warranty my warranty expires in 4 years in April 2029. With all of the electronics in the Taycan I would not own it without a warranty. I read that in Canada starting 2021 the CPO is attached to the VIN so if you sell your car privately or trade to a non Porsche dealer the CPO is also transferred over.

https://www.motor1.com/news/755883/2...d-wagon-debut/

The Mercedes-AMG E53 Wagon Is Coming To America

Quote:
To refresh your memory, it has 577 combined horsepower in normal operation, or 604 hp when Race Start is activated. The numbers match the E53 sedan, which uses the same turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Sandwiched in the middle is a single electric motor capable of adding 161 hp to the mix. All that power goes to ground through the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system.

With everything set to max attack, Mercedes says the E53 Hybrid Wagon leaps to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. That requires the aforementioned Race Start system, which also requires you to choose the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package. Doing so also raises the wagon's top speed from an electronically limited 155 mph to another electronic limiter at 174 mph. The package also adds an AMG limited-slip rear differential, composite brakes with 15.4-inch front discs, active engine mounts, and a snazzy AMG steering wheel.

That's what you get on the fun side, but lest we forget this is also a plug-in hybrid. There's a 28.6-kWh (21.2-kWh usable) battery mounted under the rear of the wagon, and it contains enough juice to drive up to 87 mph without touching the gas engine. Mercedes isn't ready to share an electric-only range at this time, but it will likely be in the neighborhood of 40 miles. For comparison, the E53 Hybrid sedan goes 42 miles with the exact same powertrain and battery. Given the extra mass of the wagon, subtracting a few miles makes sense.

Cool that they're bringing this over. I'm going to guess it'll be $110-115k to start, with decently spec ones hovering mid-high 120s / low 130s.

I think RS6 are around $150K before taxes right?

So if a 53 is $150K... not a 63... wouldnt that make RS6 more or a bargain?

@dark, is it true you can't get an Ioniq 5 N with a panoramic moonroof ("vision roof") in Canada? the configurator doesn't show it. man it's such a premium product not to even give the option.

Yes its true, North America definitely got the shaft.

Could be the EV competition in China, but when I was in Shanghai. A Matte Performance Blue 5N with no vision roof = $74,000 CAD out the door, and with the roof it was $75,500 out the door.

The sales also worded in a way that if I were to buy, there is room to negotiate.

Then of course in Canada... the stupid 5N is $94K after tax out the door.....

Currently plug in hybrids and EV's are BC sales tax exempt until April 30 and the 20% BC PST applies after May 1 for EV's and plug in hybrids that cost more than $150,000. A friend of mine dropped by McLaren Vancouver and was quoted $245,000 + 5% GST or $257,000 after tax for this used 2023 Artura with 10,000 km.

https://www.mclarenvancouver.com/inv...6aea9pw000619/

I know there have been some complaints about the sound and reliability of the Artura but that is a hell of a lot of car for $257,000! If you have the cash and could get some additional warranty extending beyond the standard 3 year McLaren warranty included in that price that could be an interesting buy. It is pretty easy to price a new much less exotic looking 2025 Porsche 911 up to $257,000 after GST, PST, and federal luxury tax.

Not nearly as exciting as buy an Artura.

We filled up the X5 yesterday for the first time since before Christmas. We put in $50 last time, and we put in $50 today. We drove about 2700kms. We've also put in about $200 worth of electricity (~$50/m).

We've been pretty happy with it overall. Wife started a new job that requires her to commute, and the battery is more than enough for her commute in and out, and also pick up the little one from daycare.

257k for a car that looks like every other McLaren from the last 15 years lol

Swear they have by far the worse lineup of vehicles. I’m a car guy and even I can’t tell the difference. In terms of road presence and prestige this car looks exactly the same as a 10 year old $80k model
