I had the chance of taking the hydrogen vehicle from work home last week for the night. Cruised around and I have to say I'm very impressed with how well the stack performed. The stack had no problem with cold starts and no problem with keeping up with city/highway traffic.

We all know the infrastructures for hydrogen vehicles are not yet in place here in BC but major automakers are prepping themselves on entering the market.

Most people wouldn't take that chance. All the way out to Abbotsford with 80% battery. Like I said, with 100%, I would have made it. Langley and back, no problem, but I have other cars for long trips. This morning, I started up the EV and left right away not having to warm up anything.

Last night, stuck behind a redneckmobile in McD's drive thru for 10 minutes spewing out all kinds of toxic fumes. I'm no tree hugger, but knowing zero emissions makes me feel a little better. I'm doing my part.

As for the quietness of the car comment, I was driving through Kensington Square parking lot when this guy turns and walks right into the car......... he didn't hear me coming. Someone told me they have this device you can install on EV's that mimic the sound of an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine), lol.

To be fair though, with an EV the emissions are sort of predone when the batteries get made. I'd go full EV before I'd get a hybrid that can be driven by either the gas or electric though, since the engine cools so quickly when it's off you end up driving on a cold engine anytime it uses the gas and heatcycle the living daylights out of the poor thing.

EV is a bit more "meaningful" when you have "clean" electricity as well, like here in BC where it's mostly hydro-generated. Somewhere that's all coal-generated power, you're really not improving the situation much over just burning dino yourself.
