The front and rear vents/grilles that are on all of the models only serve an aesthetic purpose, but the rest is there for a reason: Car and Driver |
Top Gear just did publish their comparison test between the new CTR, Focus RS, Golf R, and Cupra 300. They declared the CTR as the winner based on the fact that it's the most fun to drive, most capable, with ride comfort and refinement matching the Golf R. It also won praises for its gearbox, driving position, overall practicality, etc. The only downside is actually the engine as it has a little bit more turbo lag than the VW 2.0T. Quote:

You'll either love or hate the Type R's design. They didn't play it safe by going subtle. That being said, all the aesthetics are there for a legit performance purpose, so I'm good with that. I don't count the vents/grill because those are already on the base civic so it wasn't Type R additions. (It's still a Civic after all). Sounds like this car has some fine engineering in it. |
The front right (passenger) vent is functional. So is the hood scoop and side vents. The rear and drivers side vents are not functional. I know its weird but its true. EDIT: Jgresch's post hit the nail on the head. |

4 doors more...more space to drive Timmy's soccer teammates :okay: |

great driving neat to see how long 20 years of engineering have come i'm assuming it's way easier driving near the limit on the CTR vs the S2K |
|
victoria peeps TYPE R day on July 27 - there will be 2 in the show room. |
this has got to be the ugliest car i'v seen in a long time |
S2K's look sketchy as fcuk when driven at the limit. |
Thats the fun part haha |
If you ain't outta control, you ain't in control |

I am , 'very on the fence' on getting one. dealer said i am on the next batch. This will be a very cool car if i was 18... i have already been through this process when i got the Ep3 near new ...15 years ago.. if i do get it, it will be a DD hauling a family of 2 kids. and i would have to give up my MDX for it. and wifey will be driving it 1/2 the time taking the kids to school. i might just give up my spot.. luckily the dealer i dealt with provided a refundable deposit as an option |
Those are some pretty strong words. |

watched half way and just started skipping thru it Whole video has nothing to do with the Type-R car in particular. He just kept whining about the relationship between car manufacturers and car reviewer in general...and Honda as a brand going down hill..etc etc I feel like he has never even driven the car..the stuffs he said (whether true or not) has nothing to do with this car. Basically a click bait with a catchy titles. |

i'm pretty sure he hasn't. I've watched his other car reviews before and when he has actually driven them its different. he does go off on tangents and bitches about industry things in those too, but he does talk about the cars more. He's also a bit of a subaru fanboy (hence the references to the sti moreso than other type r competitors). |
Saw a White one last night on Lougheed HWY, probably turning to goto Costco. Doesn't look too outlandish from the front. |
Spotted one today in the afternoon. Black one with "CTR" plates. I figured a lot of owners were gonna try to get that plate. |
EE did a great review |
