New Phone: S6 or 6S? This probably get asked a million times... But if cost is not a big factor, which one would be a better choice? I am a phone noob, only use it for calls, msg, and taking photos mostly. I need to get a new phone only cause my iphone 5 is dying. (random reboot and lines on screen) I've always been an iphone user (3GS->4->5), but also hated apples (itunes is a pain whenever I need to transfer files and songs) I am thinking about the S6 cause transferring files seems easier, less restrictive, and it seems to have a better camera than even the 6s. But I also wanted to stay iphone cause i think it will be much easier to "port" my iphone 5 to 6s with all my apps and data. Also, I wouldn't need to re-learn all the menu and user interface. Is there anyway to move all my whatsapp data and history from an iphone 5 to Samsung S6? What about other apps I have? Are they transferable? any suggestion / recommendations appreciated |
if you value battery life at all, stay away from the s6. its absolute shit at managing battery life and managing ram.. iphone 6s gets my vote. |

I am a very light phone user, but I'd still value battery life a lot... |
6S camera is better from what I've heard |
Get the iPhone.. better battery life and it's something you are used to. Camera is better on the S6 though. |
the s6 would give a solid day and a bit based on what you say you use the phone for. i find the s5 to even be better, being able to get through two work days and the night in between before needing a charge. i know you can transfer whatsapp messages and export them from pretty much any android phone and set it up to new ones, but i haven't tried it from an iPhone. from my personal opinion, any sort of bad lighting, the 6S wins for camera. but in decent lighting, i like how the s6 brings up darker shades to light. video would definitely be in s6's favour. honestly it's good to know if you'd like different platforms. a friend just recently tried android (a sony unfortunately) and that strengthened her preference to the iPhone. |
For transfering files, have you've tried Dropbox? Pretty awesome software/app! I would go for the 6S, battery life is better and you're more accustomed to IOS anyways. |
Consider the 6P (Nexus), better camera, better battery, & a lot more gigs for cheaper. |
get the iphone and you'll stop caring about every new phone that comes out |
Personally, I think both phones have shit battery life. I do like the look of the Samsung better though. Apple has put out a new case (albeit an ugly one) to help with the battery life. Apple Smart Battery Case Review: iPhone Battery Life Nearly Doubled - WSJ Unfortunately, Apple is charging a crazy amount of money for them. |
Iphone 6s. Reason being 1.Better stand by battery life 2. You are use to it 3. You have all the apps and songs from itunes already so you don't have to buy them again 4. Great resell value. If you ever decide to sell your phone a few years down the road you can still get 70 to 80% of what you paid with an iphone. With Samsung no one really wants to buy them 2nd hand. |

the only reason to go S6 is because of android imho. no other reason.. |
^fast charging? |
nice to have but not a deal breaker for me. |
iphone 6s has better battery life its "smooth" it doesnt lag out on you in a year it runs games perfectly my friend had the s6 edge and games kept crashing on him and he wasn't even playing it that much. started lagging within half a year. thats why i picked iphone 6 |
you just use it for call and taking photos? grab a Nokia 808 Pureview, still the better cameraphone (except for video, although the audio is 2nd to none), has great clear call quality, the battery will last a couple days, and the screen is the clearest and brightest in direct sunlight than any other phone to this day :) The S6 has a better camera than the 6S btw, and you'll get to experience a whole new phone since the OS will be different to what you're used to, makes it more interesting imho :D |
iphone.. simply is a better option, mainly due to the OS. Android , while good at letting u customize stuff , has energy bleed, even at a year old with iphone6, i can easily go 2 days without charging. and have noticed not looking for a power source as often while travelling. |
lol getting failed by the s6 fanboys i have an s6 and im saying it sucks. iPhone is simply superior. Tech specs do not equate to user experience. Stop being nerds and actually look at usability and ergonomics |
i have an S6 and i want to sell it. i dont care about the battery life (iphone is better hands down.. it doesnt even move when left overnight..), but i cant stand samsungs touchjizz UI... and the fact that my old POS Nexus 5 with 6.0.1 runs smoother even after my S6 was debloated with package pro disabler.. re: camera, both are good. hard to say which is better. friend of mine says the 6S has better dynamic range than the S6. both you cant go wrong. |

Get whatever OS you want dog. Better camera on the S6 or vice versa? Apples and oranges dog. Some people make that statement as if we're comparing a camera on a current gen phones vs like a S3 or something. |
The question here should not be which phone is better (ip6s vs S6) because that question usually leads to a shit slinging competition which this thread is starting to become . The real question the OP should be asking themselves is which phone suits his/her specific need's. There is no perfect phone so the best phone is the one that most accurately suits your needs. I'm currently an owner of an iP6S , Galaxy S6, and Nexus 6P and in my opinion the Nexus is the device that takes pros from both phones (Apple/Samsung) and seems like a good middle ground between the two. |

it's too big.. and my jeans are too tight. LOL actually, i got to use it briefly and it felt great. I may be looking to get a 5X if i have to honest. I dont need the premium feel.. i just want vanilla android.. lol not sure if i'll miss having OIS for video tho. |
