| Vasectomy advice
Thinking about getting a vasectomy.
For people who have gotten it, what has been your experience of it?
And particularly your energy levels? Increased/decreased/same?
Life-view?

Not an expert but i have 2 friends who have done it, so take it with a grain of salt.
-it's less risky for males to do it and if you want it to be reversed, again, much easier.
-don't try to fuck like bunnies as it does take a few more jerks to clear out any residuals after the procedure.
-just be really sure you wnat it done, i have someone who got it done in their 20s and a dude in their 30s. both took a long time to make the decision.
-standard procedure, just couldn't walk / pain for a day or two and it was all good.

There's a guy in Langley as well, Dr Rich/Follows.That's where I got mine done.
An RSer had a bad experience looking at a van Pollock was selling where he was apparently lying through his teeth. I don't want some asshole anywhere near my nuts so went elsewhere.

Yeah I'm in the same boat.
I've made the decision to get one, but waited a year just to make sure both me and the wife are good with it, and still don't want to have any kids.
Sounds like Dr. Pollock is the 'main' guy in town that does them, but I've heard so many mixed experiences with him that I can't help but second guess. Apparently it's very much like an assembly line, and you barely talk/deal with him. Which may or may not be a good thing? lol
How was your experience punkwax? And who did you end up seeing? Rich or Follows?

Had it done. Rich Follows clinic in Abby.
Was in and out in less than 30min. Talked cars with him (had an E92 M3 but drives an S7 now).
Only experience a little swelling. No pain to talk about. Was easy on my junk for a week. Iced a bit.
It takes about 2-3 months to make sure there is no sperm in your ejaculate. So they recommend 12-20 ejaculations and then going back to get your sperm count tested.
Don't jump the wife/gf thinking your firing blanks till you get tested. Many people have had a surprise from this.

have you guys ever considered about IUD? or were you guys set on vasectomy?
"An intrauterine device (IUD or coil) is a small contraceptive device, often 'T'-shaped, often containing either copper or levonorgestrel, which is inserted into the uterus. They are one form of long-acting reversible contraception which are the most effective types of reversible birth control."

We have our 2 kids and we are happy. My sister had 2 kids on the IUD so not interested in that. Quote:

If anyone is considering it I recommend these guys. There is a ton of useful info on there website for common questions and stuff. So if your considering it take a look and read up lots.
#1 concern I hear from most guys, jokingly or not, is "will I be able to nutt on her still?", and yes, you dont shoot dust. Ejaculate still comes out. Only about 5% of what you bust is in fact semen.

I got mine 11 years ago after my third wee one.
no scalpel is what we used. Dr. Rich was his name, in Surrey.
I have no regrets at all. To me, it's like laser eye surgery. Get it now and see the future, or support the contact lens industry until you die. But in this case, the contact lens industry us actually the condom industry.

For those that went to Rich/Follows (or even Pollock), did you need a referral from you family dr? Looks like Rich/Follows requires one?

I didn't need one.
But it should be very simple to get if you do need a referral now.

Ok cool. Just looking at the online registration on the Follows website, looks like you need one.
No big deal either way, I've already talked to my family dr about it anyhow. He encouraged me to wait the 6m-1yr just to be sure, and gave me Dr. Pollocks info as the guy to go see.
Looks like Dr. Pollock has another guy working with him now too. Can't believe Pollock's office charges $299 for their preferred service (just one appt). They claim to provide you with everything you'll need for post-op care, instead of having to go around buying the stuff you'll need. Seems a bit steep, though I do like the idea of just having the one visit lol.
But in all honesty, what stuff do you really need for pos-op care? I'm asuming some sort of jock strap to keep the boys in place for the first while?

Dr. Follows was $45 I think. Jockstrap thing, padding, cup for sample, paperwork for the lab work. Would recommend him over Pollock from what I have heard......and he drive a nice car so yeah must be better.

Even if it wasn't and I'm pretty sure it is with some nominal fee, what is the cost of raising a child?
Even for an oil change on ypur car now, shops will tack on a small % shop supplies fee.

its not covered by msp
just be prepared, there will be a female touching your junk area. So if you do get boners by a slight touch you may want to drain yourself before hand or you may be in for an embarrassing situation

Dealing with post surgery pain, my urologist told me never to have a vasectomy. He said there's a chance for reoccuring pain. Most don't have any issues but there's always a chance.

Dr. Pollock’s “no scalpel” method is not covered under MSP. But it’s a less invasive procedure and you could probably get an appointment pretty quickly. For the regular procedure, be prepared to wait for an appointment, and have a longer recovery time.

Dr. Pollock is in the neighbourhood of $800.
When his services were partially covered by MSP, it was in the neighbourhood of $300.
