The Golf R is AWD, right? Like the Golf R32. It's the GTI that's FF if I'm not mistaken.

Kind of a stupid question considering it's on snow...

It behaves like a normal car when you drive it like a human being, when you drive it like a retard it feels AWD with a RWD bias, the back end tends to come around as opposed to say an STI where the front end tends to plow. I love AWDrifting my little R around on snow days, super predictable and fun + there is two settings to defeat the TCS, the first is "semi safe" mode and it lets you get very sideways, you wouldn't even realize it was doing anything until you turn on fully defeated mode and everything just feels greasy from there, can't get any traction if you just stab the throttle.

Don't believe everything you read on the net from brain dead car review types, the AWD system in the R to me feels just as good as a 997 C4s... which is really good, far better than the STI IMO.

Exactly, and I will add it's FWD bias to give the R better gas mileage then the sti and full time awd cars. You cannot tell that there is a bias in power delivery, the new golf R made me far happier then the new sti. Much more response in the R, steering is very direct, and it hauls ass.
