If you want to compare the 580-2 with the same options that come with the V10+ base like the rear view camera, park sensors, navigation, bluetooth & lift system you're looking at an additional $13k. If you want CCB's that's an additional $17,500, standard on the V10+. |

My 5 litre has sat for more than a week now and there's still lots of snow on the ground. Put the battery tender through the window to the 12V outlet and ran the other end into the wall socket. http://i.imgur.com/C0qFWQO.jpg |

People ask me why I bought a BRZ instead of a FRS. It's because Subarus are better in the snow. http://i1319.photobucket.com/albums/...psrzgqwbba.jpg http://i1319.photobucket.com/albums/...pspwy0uhcz.jpg |

Too bad it still doesn't drive as good as it looks. |

The 580-2 is 3.2 to 3.4 seconds and RWD and is 580hp. Performance wise, the V10+ is the better car. IMHO, VAG did a good job in positioning the V10+ and 580-2 in terms of pricing. I had the chance to take the V10+ for a 3 lap track day about 5 months ago. It's a teutonic beast, minimalist styling (per Audi) yet docile when required. There is no doubt it can be daily driven. And....... it's blistering fast. |
i'd take the exhaust note and sex appeal of a Lamborghini anyday,Chaos in the street with a Vinyl wrap!. http://www.wrapstyle.pl/content/wrap...tract-bull.jpg |
Because a plastic film is better than supercar paint...... |

The styling of the new R8 just doesn't do it for me. The grille below the headlights is just so poorly executed and the front clip doesn't feel cohesive to me. http://media.caranddriver.com/images...-s-429x262.jpg Despite being a Lamborghini, the Huracan's styling is very simple and the vents are subtle. The 610's front bumper is nicer but both 580 and 610 look good from any angle for me. I think the simple styling is going to last a long time to come as well. Performance-wise, typical buyers of either car aren't out to set any track day records but the AWD makes sense for the douchebag that wants to just floor it from stop light to stop light |
Had to take some pictures while I was enjoying the drive in the snow this week! https://c7.staticflickr.com/1/146/31...d4d75dfc_k.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/1/724/30...4e086784_k.jpg |
The thing is the pricing for the 580-2 is deceiving because on paper it looks like a killer price point but by the time you add the basic options, pay for the air freight the car is nearing $250k and this doesn't include upgraded wheels, CCB's, interior packages, driving dynamic packages, etc... The R8 V10+ is the best bang for your buck supercar because you can get $10k-$15k off the sticker but because of that the new R8 will have rapid deprecation. |
Is that air freight required? Sorry for the nub question. I don't recall it being mentioned by the sales when I went to inquire an LP700-4, although it might have something to do as I (well, not for me, but for a family member) was shopping for a car very soon and we were discussing mostly about cars in their inventories. And I agree the R8 V10 is the best supercar for DD. Lambo's options are fucking crazy. |
Yes, Lambo only air freights their cars to Canada and I believe the US. All NA Ferrari's are shipped to NJ and then put on trains. Ferrari offers air freight but it's $26k. |
