Lexus LC500 (LF LC production) Didn't know this was officially unveiled yesterday... what the deuce I imagine it's going to cost upwards of $100k, assuming this is the SC400's replacement http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...eesh8ilvbu.jpg Glad I didn't bite on the RCF The base will have the RCF's engine, with a 10-spd automatic, in a lightweight body... wonder what the LC-F will have http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...v39geej75l.jpg http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...yvcewe6dxm.jpg http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...olmh8tmdzb.jpg http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...iv1qwavnul.jpg http://img.netcarshow.com/Lexus-LC_5...llpaper_0c.jpg |

467-hp 5.0-liter V8 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds sorry this doesn't sound very impressive...this is just as slow as Mustang GT for a acceleration department. I would've expected mid 3 seconds or even high 3. |
OK I just did a Google search, as I thought, this thing needs to go at least high 3's to be competitive. 4.5 sec is seriously pathetic. It's not a Mustang, Camaero, 370Z...it's a high end luxury coupe. BMW M4 0-60mph: 3.7 seconds http://s3.amazonaws.com/digitaltrend...ront-angle.jpg Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 0-60mph: 3.8 seconds https://i.ytimg.com/vi/A1qAPzxJuwU/maxresdefault.jpg Cadillac ATS-V 0-60mph: 3.8 seconds http://gmauthority.com/blog/wp-conte...v-coupe-13.jpg Jaguar F-Type SVR 0-60mph: 3.5 seconds http://gtspirit.com/wp-content/uploa...Type-SVR-7.jpg |
that interior, superb! |
The LC500 is NOT intended to compete with any of those cars...That's what the RC-F is for. |
^The RC F is not that much better either :lol |
and toyota has to use incandescent license plate bulbs :lol |

That's pretty bad for a coupe with 5L V8. It needs to be mid-high 3 secs. |
^^^ motor trend says 4.3s the LC-F is going to be the competitive one anyway, the LC500 just has the RCF's engine so comparing the LCF to sport variants of lower end coupes isn't relative (price point wise) the RC & RCF are the ones up against the examples timpo posted the lc500 is replacing the old sc though, which wasnt a speedster either |
OK I did some research why Lexus chose V8 and looks like they're saying Lexus chose the "feeling" or "pure" part of V8 sound and characteristics. Everyone is downsizing to small displacement turbo, but Lexus kept the V8. I am still not impressed with the 0-60mph time though. Lexus is truly re-modeling a new generation design of front grille's and styles.. |

I think it looks awesome! I love Lexus/Toyota so perhaps I'm a bit biased. Numbers don't mean shit. Lexus is all about fit and finish, quality control, residual value, styling, etc. Yeah, it doesn't do a sub-4 sec 0-60 but who cares, it'll actaully be worth something in 10 years and not be falling apart. Go Lexus!! |

6 series and S coupe alternative. hopefully refinement is up there and the body mass kept low. |
Not fond of the yellow ones timpo just posted but that video! Mmm |
Perfect GT car. Heavy (assumed) slow (kind of) and killer interior. Understand the brand. Lexus has never given a shit about top speed or 0-60. All about driving refinement. |
At first, I thought this would be the Supra replacement until I read it was the SC's supposed replacement. Neat car nonetheless. |
