LTW, CSL OR GTS. The goal at BMW M is always to make the cars fast. It's all about function over form and people usually grow to like thesee cars after they find out how well they handle and how special they really are.
eh... 80kg lighter, 100more hp, no backseat, liquid cooling, automatic transmission... automatic... auto... 3X+? the price of an M4
I could see buying it simply because it's limited, in hopes that it'll go up in value... other than that meh
-Stock m4 is 425hp and the gts is 493hp. So it's +68hp
-Base model m4 is $76,000 plus $3,900 for DCT and $8,500 for ccb. So it's around 40% more in price.
- no backseat because a roll bar is installed. The clubsport package in europe is optional. So a backseat is avaliable in europe, but I don't see many ppl not taking the clubsport package.
- it's a DCT and not a regular automatic.

I read that it's $160k USD? so assumed it'd be around 225k here, 40% more isn't too egregious
but nice thing is, both hold value or would go up in value.
all depends on preference really, but the GTS itself is an even more exclusive car.
one does not simply walk into a dealer and buy a GTS. (unlike the GT3) thats what makes it a bit special.
991 GT3s are dropping like rock since the RS came out....GT3s were selling for $180K to $190K in the summer of 2015, you can pick a really low km example for $160K now.

thats a fantastic thing. slightly closer to reach for mere mortals like me
next GT3 may have turbos at this rate, seeing how car manufacturers are going.... so we should all enjoy some NA bliss while we still can!
991 GT3 bound to go back up in price!

Are you selling the NSX, Golf R, or just getting a third car?
First of all, peasant, I have three cars - ITR, NSX, and Golf R.
The return to Van represents a lot of changes in my life, one of them is the idea of owning less and doing more, basically the opposite of being Albertan.
The current thought process is to move DT and sell all the cars, eliminate extra parking, insurance, and modding costs and then just buy an E9X M3, some KW V3's, BBS wheels, PS2's, suede wheel, exhaust, and call it a day.
Ultimately I will have a lot more cash laying around, will be less inclined to work and more inclined to vacation. The last three years for me have been nothing but work, I'm 100% ready to stop giving fucks. My new life will consist mainly of driving down to Cali, and up to Whistler.
...at least until the money runs out, which should be like 3-4 weeks at the rate I spend the shit.
Back on the subject of the thread though, I really don't care for the latest generation of BMW styling cues. Admittedly I felt the same way when Chris Bangel's flame styling was first released, so perhaps these cars will grow on me. The new M4 looks very long, almost too "GT", and the GTS to me is fairly high on the gaudy scale.
For the price, I'll take a 991 GT3 all day over the F80 M4 GTS.

E92 M3 is a good daily driver because its comfortable but its not that that fun to drive lol. Why because its heavy as fuck. The E46 m3 or even S2k is way more fun to toss around the street than e92 m3. Having driven the 997.2 gt3 rs for a few hours and i can tell you non of the m cars are close to its performance and pure fun factor.
But if you want a comfortable car go for the e92 m3. But personally i will take the f10 M5 or the new x5m if u want a luxury comfortable fast car.
