2006 yzf-r6 no throttle response

Hi there I'm a fairly new rider and last year I bought a 06 yamaha r6 . I lent it to a friend of mine to ride and left it at his apartment to store for a couple months. After storage when we tried to start it he somehow reversed the polarity and short circuited the bike ,thus now when the engine is running there isn't any throttle response at all. If someone can chime in that would be great as I would want to get it fixed before the season starts this year.

thank you in advance for any help.

Look at post #5 of this link, has a pdf of the service manual, and tells you how to enter diagnostic mode to see if there's a code. Could be one of several things.

Might be even something simple as a blown fuse.
