Renting car in US, which insurance to get?

So I will be heading to the LA and Vegas for about 5 days and will be renting a car.

Is it cheaper to get insurance from ICBC or from the car rental company?
I've never rented a car so I dont know...

Thanks

IIRC it's around $10-$15 per day for their insurance generally. If you have Roadside Plus with ICBC (just under $50/year for me with 35%) it covers most rental vehicles throughout NA but of course if you get in an at fault accident down there your rates go up here as it normal. Make sure you print a copy of your policy and bring it with you if you go this route

If I get insurance from the rental company and get into accident, my fault (minor fender bender or broken window due to break-in or something), does this also effect my rates with ICBC?

Check if your credit card company provides free coverage

i almost had to go this route once but its a fairly long process to get them to cover it, u need to get estimates done and submit them

its easier just to buy their insurance, if there is damage, just give them the keys and walk away

its its $10-$15/day, I might as well.. less hassle.. thanks guys
