The best announcement out of MWC 2016 IMO. Was so caught up with the S7/G5 that I forgot Xiaomi was announcing this.

Very similar hardware to the S7 and G5, yet the 32GB starts at half the price (1999RMB/300USD/420CAD).

Was going to get a friend to grab one before they leave China, but it's launching March 1st. Anyone going to China next month? :badpokerface:

yeah i was kind of sold on the edge7 then i saw the announcement of the mi5pro (mi5 is nice too)

Yeah, I'd probably end up getting the 32GB model and if I don't like it, I'm sure there are tons of people that would be willing to buy it off me.

I don't need all that storage on my phone, and I bet even a 820 underclocked at 1.8GHz is faster than the 810 in my Nexus 6P.

was all over s7 but think Mi5 pro is a better value :) now if only they start carrying it here... NCIX probably would.

Does it support LTE here?

LTE bands unconfirmed, but 3G should work on all Canadian networks except for Videotron and Wind.

I would imagine that worst case secnario, it would support at least B7 2600MHz for LTE - meaning it would work with Bell and Rogers (and their subsidiaries) in limited areas.

I'm happy with 3G speeds on Telus, so it doesn't matter for me.

I am more interested in waiting for them to announce the mi 5 plus (which use to be mi note line) because 5.1" is a bit too small for me to get used to now. I have the mi note from last year and I'd say its one of the best phone experiences I've ever had.

Once you had LTE speeds is hard to go back. Might be cheap and specs are good with with no full LTE coverage is not really for me.

Wonder how hard it is to get one within the first week.. Online orders started in China a day or two ago. Even the Mi 4s is pretty good too

so tempted to get one, i had a mi2 and mi3 and skipped the mi4 for a meizu

xiaomi wasnt great, but its much better then the meizu note for sure

might switch to the mi5 and note6

I may have found someone that can bring one to me from China in a few weeks. Just debating configuration and colour.

I'll probably end up going to China in the summer so I can pick one there then if things don't pan out. Will give me more time to read up on reviews too.

I dont like not having an app drawer... dnt like to scroll through pages of apps... sure you can have folders and sort them.. I just like a clean looking homescreen.

better watch out, not all colors are standard with all models (but are all unlock for sure)

this happened with my mi3 and if i remember

black mi3 was an exclusive to china mobile and it had a nivida core instead of the snap dragon

sliver was a exclusive to china telecom and it only had the 16gb (or at least thats what i bought from the website)

white was a rare color

and that was it i heard there was blue yellow green but i have never seem it before in China or online

You can just download another launcher. Tons to choose from after you install the playstore.

Just got a Mi 4S and it's pretty good so far!

I wonder how long before CM13 is available. My note2 got CM12.1 2 months after launch.

Seems like I won't be getting a Mi5 until mid-Summer.
