When was the last time you ever saw a tomato grower buy a bunch of lights worth ten grand each------grow rips are not to make a BLT sub.....I'm sure there must actually be at least one tomato grow in a LMD basement-----at least one

I don't know a hard number, but it's probably about the same as the number of people who buy hydroponic equipment to grow tomatoes.

well, that's kind of the argument, dont even know why everything is focused on the modified vehicles, I think most of the car enthusiasts are so careful with their rides, they drive quite carefully on road, and tend to care more about driving "properly", I do also understand the group of "street racers" "hoons" "drifters" that drive recklessly, those are different, if caught on spot, I totally agree with impounding and just killing their licenses. But busting a car thats driving within the speed limit, according to the road signs, slow down for police road blocks, etc.

take imprezas for example, its rare to drive thru a road block unmolested..

Just read this for some reason. Although it is illegal in Taiwan, there are also a lot of gray areas. Certain cars come with engine information attached to the vehicle and some don't. A lot of engine swaps go on, and even pass Taiwan inspection. Similarly, there is now a 2" allowable increase in rim size on some vehicles. Also, there are still a lot of hardcore totally illegally modified vehicles on the streets, because those people also own a second identical vehicle they use to pass inspection with.

Taiwan is a free country - modifying cars here is getting more and more difficult, though. There is a new law coming out now slamming huge fines (relatively speaking in Taiwan) on scooter exhaust modifications. It is now completely illegal, even if the modification is equivalent to the original. It is likely that car laws also become that obsessive. In the meantime, there are still plenty of corrupt inspectors to get around inspections for a price.

I see a lot of older BC Transit busses that have converted to HID headlamps.

I wonder what sort of clearance they got to proceed with that? They're not done very well.

I was going to say something similar cause I see a lot of cabs running HID's in the standard halogen housings.

I was under the understanding that cabs are inspected, isn't that one of the regulation things that cabbies argued that Uber doesn't follow? If they aren't inspected then wtf, and if they are, then who is inspecting them, because I'd like his information for when I inevitably get a VI on my car.

A properly retrofit costs a lot of money and effort. Now imagine that on every single bus.

That said, that's no reason for slapping HID in regular housings. Do it right, or don't do it.

they're not gonna retrofit an entire fleet of buses...and it's not like they can find cheap reps on ebay with projectors..haven't been blinded by them

the stock halogens on most 90s vehicles are worthless on rainy nights so I can understand why they wanna upgrade

the LED banner they ran was worse

Most of us cranky old bustards are gone and they might never get called on improper retrofits.
