Quality Shops in Vancouver

I'm getting weary of the current shop I've been using for a few years and wouldn't mind exploring a few others. Any recommendations?

Jgresch 04-13-2016 12:42 PM

Mechanical? What type of car?

when my dad used to have a jaguar (they do everything british, including range rover) he went to http://www.silkcat.ca/

maybe pg performance for audi? i was going to recommend shift autosport, but i just checked out their webpage and it says they are permanently closed as of february 2016

Word of mouth, is that Shift's lot got bought out by Cressey Development. Huge payout.. No longer running a shop. I'm surprised the owner didn't sell off the company as it was well known to the VW and Audi owners.

it's been years since i last went to shift... all i knew was that richard rented/leased the building and he put a lot of money expanding/renovating into the adjacent space. kinda sucks i guess :(

I believe he owned the land and also purchased the land behind him, renovated the crap out of the place and now sold.
I would assume he did very well on the sale. The property he purchased a few years ago was dirt cheap then

I would recommend PG Performance for VW/Audi stuff, and The Speed Syndicate for other work.

Dynamic Performance Auto Centre | HOME | Richmond, BC

They specialize in Porsche, but do great work on all high end cars.

I feel like a peasant every time i stop by in the evo.

If you dont mind in the Burnaby Royal Oak area, The Speed Syndicate very good from my experience. They took in my super old 2001 Corolla for brake servicing. Well priced and didnt try to scam me in doing other services. Plus they are a sponsor to revscene, they have a maintained a good reputation here too

The Speed Syndicate

My friend went there for an oil change, and they forgot to put the oil cap back on... luckily we figured out before too much oil was lost.

i've been there to do my APR tuning back when i had an mk5... they are not cheap.

but how hard is it to swap tailights? is it more than just a bolt-on affair? are there VAGCOM issues that i don't know about?

I need to have the coding done to have fully functional tail-lights (amber signals)

punkwax 04-18-2016 02:37 PM

RPI used to be THE shop for VW back in the day.. cannot comment on recent work.

westopher 04-18-2016 03:08 PM

RPI is fucking laughably expensive. When the dollar was at par(ish) their parts were literally triple the cost of ordering online. I like to support local shops, but not local gouging.

Parm at Jawanda us nice.

TSS is nice.

LethalLaw 04-27-2016 09:36 PM

AVS on westminster hwy, ara is the guy you want to see...

Didn't realize Shift was no longer in the game, they are truly one of the most knowledgeable shops in Vancouver when it comes to VW/Audi.

Whenever I needed work done I use and trust The Speed Syndicate and Shift only to work on my Audi. Generally I go to TSS for everything, but when I need to get some labour intensive stuff done I may go to Shift. Simply because they work on these cars all day and they can sometimes get stuff done faster than the book time, thus saving me some money on labour. Quality-wise, I think TSS and Shift are the same, both offer professional services.

So that he could link his own page #shamelessplug and probably take advantage of RevScene's SEO (backlinking). While I'm on the topic, guy should consider hiring someone who actually knows something about design. The design aspect of that website is so bad. LMFAO the buttons dont work unless you double click on it or if you click the tiny drop down arrow. Page load speed is pretty bad (5.1s). There's no call to action on the main page LOL. Pictures are good, but why have a LinkedIn page.

Monster Autolab in Langley. One of the owners was a tech for audi so that should help..
