Revscene Summer Meet Suggestions

Hi all,

This is the crew at Blitzgear and we've begun planning for the August Summer Meet. Every year we want to improve upon the last as much as possible and as such, we're opening up this forum for any suggestions you all may have regarding the event as a whole, your past experiences and what you'd like to see.

For this year's summer meet, we've thought about really focusing on bringing people together within this community.

If you have any recommendations and suggestions for new ideas or things to fix and work on this year, please post them below. It could be anything. We'll take all serious suggestions into consideration and work hard to make this the best summer meet yet.

Thanks!

- The Blitzgear Team

Dunk tank with BCRDUKES inside please. edit: I would settle for jasonturbo

The audio for spring meet couldve had a bit more reach / clarity / volume.

Would be nice to have a big gathered group by the booth vs just a small gathering and everyone else spread all over the lot during announcements/prizes.

Spanish Banks? Since we missed out on it for the Spring Meet.

The group I have organized has had trouble at the last 3 events in terms of club parking.

This past spring meet we arrived 5 minutes before our designated roll in time and were told that we are late and there is no club stalls left, and when we showed the spreadsheet that was sent to us with our designated roll in, we were simply rudely told there's no stalls left to park together, and then left to our own devices.

I don't know about other clubs which request like 50 stalls, but ours is only 10-15 cars, and we are all very close friends, we want to park together because we like to be close to one another. We always confirm numbers with the person designated by blitzgear, and yet the last 3 events have all been nightmares on this club parking front. Correcting this issue in itself would be the single biggest thing blitzgear could do to ease nerves before an the event and make it that much more enjoyable.

This past Spring Meet was unfortunately a factor beyond our control as we lost nearly 100 spots due to an unforseen fencing off of an area that we had last year. We didn't know about it until the morning of the meet when we arrived. It's something we always try to work on, however.

Why don't we have little car contest. Don't need prizes could just be to fun/bragging rights. Some could be funny and others more legitimate. The less serious one could be something to the effect of "Rice master award goes to..." or "Becuz Race Car Award"

It would be cool if the winners were picked by attendees as well. I know it's not a car show, and I'm not saying turn it into one but if forum readers submitted their rides and maybe 3-5 were picked that had the top votes on revscene. Then maybe those cars had a second vote done at the event (ballot or audience noise?) to decide the overall winner in each category. Could try one funny and one serious to start.

I think it would be fun and people would get to know the people and personalities behind the ride a little more. Plus it's all in good fun not something people will take seriously...kind of the way it should be.

Benz show in North Van is on the 28th of August. This meet should be on the 21st, 14th or 7th. Just a suggestion.
