Replacing windows

Looking to replace house windows and wasn't to sure about which company to get quotes with. I got one already with retroteck but I heard they are really bad company to deal with. Does anyone have any recommendations?

There's a long thread in RFD on windows, it's mostly info pertaining to window companies back east though. I've decided to go with West Coast Windows, primarily b/c I know of a couple people that used them a few years ago and they are very happy with their new windows. I've been to their house and the install job looked really good, but then what do I know. BrokeBack Of course you may be thinking that they are new windows, of course they would be happy, but the fact of the matter is I know of someone who cheaped out (don't remember the name of the company but I do recall seeing their ad in the mailouts that we get from time to time) and their windows started leaking within a year after installation. :heckno:

I also got quotes from Centra, A-Plus, LongLife Vinyltek, Home Depot, Starline, and one other. West Coast actually has the best warranty of them all (after reading all the fine prints). It helps that they had a 15% off anniversary special too. I seriously considered Centra and LongLife as well. Centra's ratings CSA rating weren't as high and LongLife would've cost about 30-40% more, which I couldn't justify.

Good luck on your search.

Starline is our go-to for most projects, quality work both in materials and work imo

for large residential projects with vinyl windows, starline is hard to beat....too bad most of their people are morons

I'd go with OSX or Linux

Just had my windows done by West Coast Windows, look really nice and they were easy to deal with.

I guess related to this... Do these companies install bug screens to my existing windows?

Also, how long is their useful life? My place is about 16 years old.
