Not too long ago I sanded/scrubbed through my clear coat while trying to remove some gunk left behind from when I removed my emblem; but now that its happened I need to fix it on a budget. I have been thinking of buying a dupli-color spray can of automotive paint. Im confident in my experience with rattle cans but am obviously worried about it looking different.

Is it just not glossy? It's unlikely you sanded through the clear, if you're just trying to get the shine back you need to do multi-step wet sand followed by multi-step polishing, if you're just spraying over scratch marks it's gonna look worse than it does now.
From the pics, doesnt seemed like you burnt thru. If you did burn thru clearcoat, ull see just color or primer/metal. If its just dull , it will cut polish out. As for rattle can... usually when someone burns thru clearcoat, the whole part has to be recleared for it to be properly repaired

wet sand with 1500,3000 and optional 5000 grit (to get rid of previous grit sand scratches) then finish off with 3 stage polish
