when i see cars like that i have to assume the owner is in his 30s and has been driving the same car for a good 15 years. |
I think the "forum" based socializing has taken a new direction in the form of Instagram, Facebook, etc. It's just how the younger crowd socializes nowadays. The appeal to join a forum due to it's exclusivity and specific content nature is long gone. Why go to such and such forum when I can just go on FB,IG,SC where EVERYONE is hanging out? I think it's kinda lame and I miss the glory days but times are a changing. Consolidating subforums is only a bandaid IMO. Making RS mobile friendly may help as smartphones seem to be the way most connect online nowadays. But still, I stand by my opinion that forum based socializing is dead and we older folks are here because it's famaliar to us. Although I have no positive solutions for the dwindling population here I will still follow RS in whatever direction it decides to go. |
Honestly I hate fb groups, mostly a bunch of kids that just keep asking the same questions over and over again. |

"I GOT A SPEEDING TICKET, FUCKING BULLSHIT. I'M GONNA DISPUTE" "THE OFFICER PUT THE COLOUR OF MY CAR WRONG ON MY SPEEDING TICKET. IS IT STILL VALID?" "WHO CAN STRETCH MY NEW 225 TIRES ON A 15" RIM" Pretty much the same crappy questions that got asked in our police forum every day, they just found a new place to ask, because our answers got too real for them. |
Sounds like RS |
I'm a refugee of the Okanagan forums. Only a handful of OK RS'ers are still active. While I have always disliked the Thanks/Fail system, it was just the tip of the iceberg. |

When no one posts in the official porno thread, twanger/honger girls, and white chicks threads.. you know RS is going downhill. I only frequent real estate, Jordan collector, and last place you ate threads. |

Back when I was in high school, my school (China High, as it was called). Cars hadn't been invented yet, lol. Yeah, nobody I knew of, had a car of their own. I drove my dad's car around, which was cool. You had a car, you had chicks. Didn't matter who, how, when........ Anyway, I remember getting into car audio right away. My first deck was a Craig under the dash cassette player. Then I moved up to a JDM Pioneer unit a guy from Japan sold me. It was awesome. There were no real speakers to speak of (pun intended), so I used raw speakers from Speaker City (the original Speaker City) and fabricated mounts and enclosures. My father didn't mind. He got to listen to his old fogey, music. And yes, I modded out his Chevy Nova, even though it was a four door, straight six. Nobody knew anything about cars, but I learned quick. Did stupid shit like get five spoke, chromed Cragar aftermarket wheels. I even installed air shocks that pumped up the rear end to give it a more aggressive look. Lowering vehicles was not even a thing yet. Yeah, pops wasn't too pleased with that one, so I had to lower it a bit. So much fun and memories in that car......... |

And unless you are reading everything in that group 24/7, it is so easy to loose track. You cant just check a fb group like once a day, you will never know what happened in between and suddenly everyone is talking about B when you just read about A 4 hours ago. Lol.. thats my rant for the day... |
