Armind, you know it's quite plausible (especially when dealing with Apple products which happen to retain value a lot better than its competitors) to purchase this phone on a 2 year agreement and then sell it next year and use that money to buy out the remaining year. You will likely get whatever you paid for the phone this year back when you sell it and then some.

After that, you can renew again and purchase the new model.

Never once had an S model or the transitional model of the phone, get the 3/4/5/6/7 on release day, pay less than half the full price, and then sell the previous model (which I usually keep in very good condition) for half or more of the upgrade cost.

Has worked out amazing ever since I switched over to iPhone. I'm not the type of person to flash my new phone around but I definitely like having the new model at release. It's not really a big deal to get the 6S a year and a half after release of the 6, the look is old already

I think the s has been the one to have almost every time. Don't care much about looks.

The last time I tried, they told me my plan has be at a certain number each month to qualify for the upgrade/renewal.

You think the newer generation of each phone is the "one to have" every time? Well I guess that makes sense...it is supposed to be the better phone since it comes out a year later.

Right, that's because you didn't buy out your remaining months. You have to pay off the phone that you got on subsidy. Again, you would use the money from the sale of the phone, to put towards paying out the device on your account.

Armind 09-13-2016 06:43 AM

At that time i was done paying off my iphone 4. The only option I had when I renewed my contract at that time was the Galaxy S5.

They told me to switch to a Fido Max plan, I was like :fuckthatshit: rather keep my retentions plan.

Now, they have some fucked up new plans where you have to pay more monthly depending on how much you wanna save on a phone.

If you're going back as far as the iPhone 4, you didn't have to "pay off your remaining phone balance" back then...

Mr.HappySilp 09-13-2016 07:38 AM

Don't really like the iphone. Not much special this time. Also they should include the dual lens also on the iphone 7 not just iphone 7 plus. The plus is so big and bulky for a 5.5 inch also some people prefer to use a smaller. I see no reason to get the iphone 7 this time.

Armind 09-13-2016 08:09 AM

Yeah, i don't even know how the renewal works now to get a new phone.

Pay more each month and sign a 2 year contract? Is that how it is now?

Cause when I resigned my previous contract, I was only qualified for Samsung Galaxy S5. So what would be the case if my phone balance didn't exist from iphone 4?

I'm slightly only interested if I can sign a new contract and get a discounted price + use all my Fido dollars on the iP7 before it's all gone.

But if I have to pay full retail price for a new iPhone... :fuckthatshit: I'll wait.

Wait what? You can still use your Fido Dollars? I thought they expired in July 2016.

What are you currently paying and what are you getting in that price? (your retentions plan).

And yes, that is exactly how it would work; you would pay off the remaining balance of the phone and re-sign a new 2 year agreement to get a new device at a subsidized price.

This method of phone agreements has been around since the iPhone 6 launched 2 years ago.

Armind 09-13-2016 08:40 AM

It's still showing the redeem option on my fido account online.

6GB data
200 Anytime minutes
1000 Weekends and Evenings
Unlimited Incoming
2500 Text

$60 + bs system access fee taxes

Expired for ppl who weren't collecting Fido dollars any more. The ppl who were still collecting have a later expiration date.

yes, i'm sure it is. because childish features within a messaging app make the entire OS better...

Armind 09-13-2016 01:10 PM

That's the only change that I like.. the rest is meh. Looks bloated to me from a designer's perspective. =\

Especially the music app, album covers look bloated as hell, I don't mind the size on the lockscreen and widget side but on the actually music app its huge.

Hondaracer 09-13-2016 03:30 PM

if you've got that retentions plan going for $60 + change youre gonna always be better off buying the phone outright.

Armind 09-13-2016 05:06 PM

That's why i'm not bothering with iPhone 7 since I'd have to buy at retail price.

SkippyLang 09-13-2016 06:14 PM

My iPhone 6 feels twice as slow after updating it iOS 10. This is ridiculous for a 2 year old phone.

Armind 09-13-2016 06:15 PM

^ +1 scumbag apple

Hondaracer 09-13-2016 07:04 PM

Yea fuck this iOS 10 is fucking wackkkkk...

The click home button to unlock sucks and the messaging updates are no good :(

JesseBlue 09-13-2016 07:30 PM

Maybe the faces feature is running and showing it down in the mean time until it completes
