Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 advice 1 Attachment(s) Am thinking of getting a 3000gt vr4, Wanted to see if people would recommend it as a good car to get. Pros and cons about the vehicle? Do not want to race or make it a track car, just enjoy it stock, maybe tune it abit. Lemme know thanks! |

thunderbolt! loved that movie when it first came out back in the day. i could only watch it on a bootleg vcd lol... and then i found out that gt-r in the beginning was just a gts-t type-m. fail. i have to look for it, but there is a 20 minute long video made by a jdm exporter at an auction in japan going over a 3000gt showing everything that was wrong with it (there was a lot hence the long video) as the reason why he does not recommend the 3000gt to anyone... when it goes wrong, it can be a huge money pit. |
cramped engine bay hard to work on but theyre really fun in gran turismo |

Rare car that is nostalgic for some. Get ready to spend $$$$ when something goes wrong though. Kinda put that car in line with the Subaru SVX for cars I've had a soft spot for. Berz out. |
Heavy. Twin turbo. Awd. 4ws. Lots to go wrong. |
Hmm true true, thanks for the info guys. gonna look into it more |
I just stumbled across a nice 97 3000GT LHD TT manual. Not sure if this is a VR4 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT Malahat (including Shawnigan Lake & Mill Bay), Victoria |
I had a Stealth R/T Twin Turbo over 10 years. Brilliant car, amazingly reliable, goes fast cheap. Difficult to work on, expensive parts, no one knows what the fuck you are talking about. |
The 3000GT is awesome! There are some really nicely modded 3000GTs out there :) http://aso-motorsport.com/cars/3000gtxm/1.jpg http://aso-motorsport.com/cars/3000gtxm/2.jpg http://aso-motorsport.com/cars/3000gtxm/3.jpg http://aso-motorsport.com/cars/3000gtxm/4.jpg http://aso-motorsport.com/cars/3000gtxm/5.jpg http://aso-motorsport.com/cars/3000gtxm/6.jpg http://aso-motorsport.com/cars/3000gtxm/7.jpg http://aso-motorsport.com/cars/3000gtxm/8.jpg |
I'm still waiting for you to post a "nice" one Timpo..... Berz out. |
Timpo's "nice" is not the same as the rest of the world. Timpo nice, see "Fugly" |
At least he's consistent. |

If you prefer non-widebody, Veilside has some good kits...they need to be lowered though. http://www.veilsidejpn.com/product/i...C1_type2_F.jpg http://www.veilsidejpn.com/product/i...C1_type3_F.jpg |
VS makes no good kits. |
I really like the 3000GT's, it was also my go to car for Gran Turismo hah. I personally would keep it stock btw, but I like to keep my cars clean too. |
