It's sad b/c HTC devices are still SOLID phones. I love their build quality and basic functionality is superb. I guess they're just lacking on innovative features and designs.
HTC does a lot less marketing from what I can see. Maybe it's because other brands extend beyond the phone market. Hopefully the Google pixel helps them out in that department.
