unless you really need the greatest/latest, it's wise to skip an iteration of any phone, iphones, samsungs, whatever. |
Im having a really hard time deciding between the s8 and g6, i like how i can hold the g6 better and reach the top and side easier, the s8 feels really skinny and tall and very light! I wish the front camera and low light capabilities of the s8 were on the g6 :( Ive also had the worst like with samsung, s4 died for no reason and was out of warranty, s6 had the battery plague and s7 edge had the network drop plague. Fuuuuucl but the s8 is such a pretty phone to behold!!!! Maybe i should just stick with my OP2 and wait for the note 8 vs v30 vs OP4 |

In the end, I got the G6 because it's $400 cheaper if you trade in an applicable phone (like ghetto Alcatels, S3, iPhone 4, etc). |
I like the flat design of the G6, but it's running last year's processor and it's camera isn't really getting great reviews, so it already seems dated. |
Would the G6 suffer from bootloops issues like the G4 and V10/20? LG scares me for reliability. |

We have a S8 at my workplace, and while it looks great on paper, I hate the curved display and the overall width of the phone. So while the G6 isn't a perfect phone, I'll accept it's compromises for what is half the price of the S8. |

If you can get the G6 for 500 bucks then it's definitely worth it. At 800+ not so much. |

Edit: its a fido promo! |
Yeah, Fido. Basically, you trade in an applicable phone (iPhone 4, Samsung S3, some shitty Alcatels and Huawei, etc) and get $400 off the cost of the phone. You can then call in to cancel the same day or next day and they'll only charge you the remainder. |

I signed up on the $65 1GB plan, so here is the breakdown. The upfront/device balance will be different if you choose a different plan, but should add up to be about the same. 619 x 1.12 = 693.28 693.28 - 400 = 293.28 (269 + 15) * 1.12 = 318.08 Total = 611.36 619 was upfront cost, 269 was device balance, 15 was the activation charge. Trade-in amount applies after taxes. On my paperwork, I believe it stated that my device balance was $281, but the rep on the phone when I cancelled said it was $269, so I can't confirm until I get the bill in a month. |
^thats pretty sweet, all i would need to do is get the phone unlocked then. I wonder if any of the big 3 will do a similar deal for the s8 |

I currently carry a battery pack everywhere I go and not sure I'd want to go another 6 months before seeing a new phone that may or may not explode in my pants. |

My phone keeps dropping phone calls and data. a bit annoying. but last year I wanted the S7 edge but i waited for the Note 7 to come out and man. I was impressed! Samsung displays are nice. But software has to much bloatware. Hopefully pixel 2 is good |
