Are you referring to brand new cars?
SR has a pull with certain manufacturers that you nor I do not. If there's a very limited production car, SR could buy it from say Lambo before you or I could. Then they can sell to us. The point? I'm not sure. But that does happen

it's like any boutique shop
cater to an ultra-niche crowd with possibly better after-sales service
they also have used inventory that may be highly sought-after

Yeah, SR gets in LFAs and the like that would otherwise end up purchased by a dealer and sold with a higher markup.

Pretty sure they're in the exact same business. I would venture to guess their markup is even higher since they cater to their niche crowd.

I'm used to dealers running higher markups compared to private stores, unless SR has access to those 1:1 specific specials of certain models that they can definitely sell at way higher rates. We had a Nurburgring Edition LFA come in from Hawaii that everyone wanted, including SR, but ended up going to a guy in the US.

I'm not sure. But that does happen | nail on the head, I am not to certain on new cars, but lets say, you have wacks of money and want to get into a LaFerrari with no prior Ferrari ownership... now you can either go to the Ferrari dealership and get laughed out (basically letting you know you need the original GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo.. and maybe 4 of the newest Ferrari in the current lineup to even have a chance at it.)... OR you could go to SR, and with enough money, they can get you into one and so forth...
At least that is what I think will happen, hahaha

say you want to buy a G63/G65 wagon... like right now... NOW! go walk into a benz dealership and price one out with the options you want, then ask when you can expect to take delivery of the vehicle.
That's where SR comes in. They placed the order probably a good 9 months to a year ago. they charge the premium for keeping it nice and safe til the right buyer comes along. |

They hold the inventory of hot cars for people who want it now pretty much.
I was there a few months back and the 918 weissach was 2.5MM
All their G63 was around 30k Markup
All these little boutiques is about service and speed.
Mile End Motors right beside them I was in and out trading my car with a blink of an eye, the insurance took longer than the whole trade in deal process.
