Porche Cayenne VS Jaguar F pace vs Maserati Levante vs?

So my parents are looking for a new higher end SUV. Before they have owned a Mercedes ML 420 a ML 500 and now own A BMW x35d. They don't like the stiff steering of the BMW.

My dads likes the Porsche but I don't think it's worth 30K more than the Jag. I personally really like Jag. Then we have the Maserati. The Ferrari engine kind of scares me and we would have take the ferry to Vancouver to get it serviced.

What do you guys think? any other options?

Is the Macan too small? Cuz if I were to get an SUV, that's the one I'd want.

The Macan is a bit too small and the raptors a truck. The Tesla model X is kind of in the mix but be own a gas station. I think he going to look at one this weekend.

X5M

They did lighten the steering for the new F15 X5's if they liked the bmw apart from the steering.

Why too small? Do your parents need to haul people around? Isn't the F-Pace also in the same segment as the Macan?

Are they not considering another BMW? X5m now uses EPS, and on Comfort steering it is more lighter than the previous gen.'s hydraulic steering.

Maybe he will look at the Macan again. I will also get him to check out the BMW. But I think he wants something different this time.

SQ5. Maybe you'll get a good deal since it's in its last year before the new one comes out next year.

Performance wise, it's a little quicker than the Macan S, and the base price is a thousand dollars cheaper.

If you add all the little extras, the Porsche Macan S will certainly get that much more expensive.

From my own experience, the SQ5 is reliable (I had the 2009 Q5 7 years ago, sold it to a close friend, who has had no troubles at 100,000km and I've had my fair share of ownership of other Audis which are and were all reliable at 45,000km, 32,000km, 31,000km).

The F Pace AWD-S base is $67,900 which is 12% more than the SQ5 and the Macan S. Performance wise, it's actually 0-60 in 5.1 seconds (third party tested) which is similar to the SQ5.

Have fun!

As an ex-Audi owner (wife had a S7), I can't say I recommend the brand.

Too many problems here and there (windows, door seal leaks) and then engine (oil leak and sensor).

I was considering a Tesla X, but reliability from owners doesn't seem to impress.

If they are in for the long term, I'd get a Lexus or something Japanese. If they are leasing, I'd get the Maserati. It actually drives nothing like a SUV, and that's a compliment if they don't plan to go off-road.

Model X. This thing is pretty roomy. Much bigger in person than it looks in the pictures. Pretty awesome performance too, endless torque.

having owned a bunch of suv. my favourite would have to be the full size range rover. my 2012 had seats that felt like sofas and the suspension is one of the best. not to mention you can get it supercharged.

but if they are young, want something that can go offloading in chilliwack, and look like they are driving a armoured car, then a g wagon cant be beat. i still love mine.

Checked out the F-Pace in the dealer, interior was garbage compared to its competitors. Didn't feel like a big SUV too.
