Dual Sim phone

For those of you who are using a company phone + person phone, i'm tired of paying $80+ dollars for personal phone.
So i went to Wind for person and cut that down to $40+

Now I want to go cheaper and not having to carry both phones.

Dual Sim phone, bring my phone down to pay as you go or maybe just $25 bucks a month and use company's data or even call forward all my calls to company phone.

Would love to keep using Android if possible. I'm a huge blackberry fan but if this dual sim phone pans out, I'm going to ditch the keyboard for good.

Suggestions?

One important detail you need to be aware of: many existing dual sim phones (including many released in 2016) only allow 3G/4G service on one sim at a time. The second sim will be limited to 2G service, which some Canadian carriers aren't compatible with.

It's difficult to find this information in a centralized database/comparison. The only two phones I've bothered to look this feature up on are the Axon 7 and Zenphone 3 Deluxe. Both of those can use 3G service on the second sim with a 4G primary sim. There are many more models but you might have to research each specifically.

There's also the difference between dual sim active vs dual sim standby:
"Dual-SIM Standby (DSS) requires the user to specify which of the two SIMs is able to make and receive calls, while Dual-SIM Active (DSA) enables both cards to receive calls at the same time."

Edit: just read the Huawei Honor 8, and several other high end Huawei, are dual sim active, but the second sim is limited to 2G.

You mentioned that you were on wind. What network is your work plan using?

Find out if the phone you are planning on getting works for both networks.

Get the OP3. Wind works with it.

Work phone is Rogers. Honestly, I'm just going to call forward ALL my calls to my work phone.

Whatsapp supports their number on a different sim so all i need is to call forward all my calls.

the ONLY draw back = no porn / tinder on work phone ahhahah which i don't do anyways.

The main reason is also this; I have changed jobs 4 times and each time i get a diff work number, that's why I want to really keep my personal phone number that's why.

How much is the sony xz? Sony just doesn't sound amazing to me. OP3 sound much better. hm... decision

not all dual-SIMs are equal

my Sony from last year has both cards and microSD ( i think most devices will make you chose between SD card or 2nd SIM but not both at once)

You can select which card to use data, calls, text and allow forwarding calls if a SIM card is unreachable.

This is the least popular option, but the Microsoft Lumia 650 and 950/950XL have a dual SIM option which work well but has its limitations like what most people have mentioned. It works well when I'm travelling between cities.

I been using dual sim phones for a few years now here in china

Im on a CDMA network for work and i have a gsm sim, as well as a wcdma sim

Most of the phones i have used are pretty crappy due to the fact that im with china telecom, the dual sim meizu i got would only let me use 2g on gsm/wcdma network while the cdma network gets 4g

Also do u have msg apps like wechat and line or whatsapp, lot of ppl have a msg app for work and other for personal use (one phone would mean one app profile only, which is why i went back to being a 2 phone guy)

I cant recommend any phones as im not sure if they work in canada

Xiaomi and meizu both have duel sim phones, both are on budget too (just make sure u dont buy the cdma versions)
