i wish they made hard shell carrying cases...i remember when switch first released i looked for one asap
2021 they still didn't make them, Sucks ass. you know no idea how peace of mind it was When my Sony Vita had a hard shell case that's thick plastic build like a tank.
if anyone invented one they would making some major cash off of switch.
Also I don't think there's any way they would have games that only run on the new version. If anything, they'd do something like PS4 Pro, which would already be very bold for Nintendo.
I think they're trying to keep the lid on it until all those limited edition Switch have been released. I think it'll come out the time BotW 2 comes out
if they do release one, i assume it'll have more processing power? do stores such as EB games or whatever generally have like a trade-in promo where you trade in and they knock a healthy chunk off the new system?

Then generally do give you a trade in for previous gen consoles. Although, I think currently trading in a Switch is worth $270, but I think trading in last gen promo would only reduce the price $150-$200.
Nintendo Switch OLED just unveiled - coming October 8 for $349 USD
Nintendo has just revealed the Nintendo Switch OLED Model, an upgraded take on the Nintendo Switch with a larger OLED panel that is superior to the LCD screen on the regular model.
Available from October 8, the new Switch will cost $349. It doesn’t just offer a new OLED display either, as it also has a wider and adjustable stand, 64GB of internal storage (double the 32GB in the Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite), as well as a LAN port to support wired internet connection for more stable online gaming.
Was hoping for a spec bump. Would love to replay BOTW at a more consistent frame rate.
Not really interesting for people that already have a Switch (unless you play primarily handheld and want that extra space), so I imagine this will eventually be used to phase out the original non-OLED model.
Perhaps they might release something better once the semi-conductor supply chain frees up a bit?

Expect a spec bump when the semiconductor crisis is over... Nintendo is the only one surviving through this crisis - MS, Sony, Nvidia, AMD are all getting fucked, not to mention car manufacturers.
But Nintendo seems to be able to get enough supply of these old chips that it made sense for them to put out a new model for people who primarily play handheld. Pass their old Switch down to someone else who will start buying their games, and keep rolling from there.
I'm seeing nothing but negativity for this model, but it's pretty brilliant considering the circumstances.
Next year when they are able to bring out a Switch Pro, I'd expect a spec bump with DLSS so it can output 4K and upres old games for no extra work at all. Should be identical to this new model otherwise.
I'm diggin that white/black combo with the OLED screen. Mid-cycle refresh at same price would have made it a no-brainer ( for those that don't have one ). Even at $50, factor in inflation over the past year years its really not bad. I sold my original when prices were stupid, wasn't really playing it anyways. Might pick up the refresh.
If they had added Bluetooth people would be more interested in this model. I know I would consider it, but in its current version, I am fine with my original Switch.
I am more excited about Tony Hawk's 1+2 being released so I can relive my teenage years

Been playin' that on the Switch for the past week. It combines nostalgia with rose-colored lenses to create an experience that's really similar to the way you should remember it!
I was more excited to see Splatoon 3 in the trailer than the OLED Switch itself.
With the new screen upgrade to the regular Switch, the Lite's kind of left in no man's land. Wonder if Nintendo will phase it out or if an OLED Lite is on the horizon.
