Surrey and Langley I have found that the coverage for Rogers is nowhere near as good as Telus.

Might make the switch. Called Fido earlier today to ask something about my bill and also getting $250 off the Samsung S7. The guy just keep asking me for my PIN. I explain I setup the Pin like 5 to 6 years and there is no way I could remember. I even suggest I have the acct number, when I made payments, where the bill is going to etc etc.... wouldn't even offer to help me reset it. Just keep saying he can't even look at my bill for me till I give him the PIN.

Had to complain to Fido FB page till the rep there help me reset my PIN. It was so stupid and dumb. Got a $25 credit from Fido. Cancel my contract with them (Only have to pay $60). Ask them about their Samsung s7 deal. Not much of a deal at all. If you trade in a Samsung S5 you get a total of $340 off the phone.

Take the S7 for example they sell it for $910 so with $340 credit you still have $570 left. If you go on their cheapest Pluse plan that gives 2GB of data, 300min, weekday after 5pm and weekends unlimted and 1000 long distance mins to most Asia place is $55 per month. With that plan you get a tab of $0 so in order for you get the Samsung you have to pay $570. If you want to pay cheaper up front you can pay an extra $5 per month and you get a tab of $400 so you still have to pay $170 up front.

Oh and the credit for trading in your phone it is given back to you as a form of credit torwards your bill in the 2nd to 4 month. So basically you still have to pay $340 up front as well then you get a credit towards your bill. Such shitty deal. I was thinking of switching up seeing such crap deals and deals I am just going to keep on using my 1+3. Nothing wrong with it. It seems there are like no good deals to get a phone anymore.

Do what I did. Buy an unlocked S7 from ebay. It's the international model, the phone is better than the North American ones. I get the same amount of battery life out of this phone as people were getting with their note 7's. About 17hrs on battery with 4+hrs screen on time.

It auto cancels when number successfully ports over.

Are we able to do more than 1 add on of the extra data?

For example, an extra 2-3 gigs @ 30.00 each?

with fido you get billed 30 days no matter when your account gets shut down, which is what im doing right now and just waiting off to use as much data as i can with my current plan ($65 5gb loyalty plan) then i will activate my PM sim card and port my number next week before the deal expires

3 years ago i made a switch from fido to koodo (then switch back to fido when i got the email for the loyalty plan) and once i ported my number, my fido account got shut down and i couldnt log in to my account to pay my last billing, had to go in person to pay.

If I'm not mistaken, that's not true anymore, you're prorated on the day that you ported/cancelled with them (any carriers for that matter).

Sucks how Canada-Wide calling jumps the cost by $80, making it not as feasible as I do make a lot of canada wide calls. I use way more than 4GB as well, so trying to cut down will be hard. However, Fido was nice to me and offered $80 10 GB plan. I find that Rogers and Fido are usually willing to offer deals more often than other carriers.

You're right. It is under the "CRTC" rules. (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission)

If they are charging you for a month of services that you have not used that is not allowed and you could file a report and actually go to court for it if they refuse to reinstate your bill. But once you threaten them and explain it, they will just change it to the prorated rate. Lol

It's happened to me before with Telus.

There's a $15 add on for 400 min canada wide (and international) minutes that expire when you finish the minutes, not paid every 3 months with your plan.

But clearly this deal isn't for you given your usage pattern of using >4GB and canada-wide minutes.

The Canadian models use the same chip as international models - Exynos 8890, so battery life will be the same. The US models use the Snapdragon 820 chip though.

Anyone else having troubles with the final step to switch over to Public Mobile? Data works for me but I can't receive calls/texts.

Got a text saying:

Public Mobile here: To complete your request to move to Public Mobile, please go to Publicmobile.ca, click Contact us and complete the SIM & Activation online form. You'll need to provide the correct ESN/MEID from your previous service provider. Thanks.

I can't seem to find the Sim & Activation online form anywhere on their website. I messaged a mod on the forums a couple days ago but no response yet.

Hopefully you guys get yours before Friday- service has been excellent so no complaints here!
