I've been told by Bell that Fido's $40 plan is only good for 120 days. After that you pay normal price. Can anyone confirm that?

Isn't that like a strategy by all phone companies to say not good things about their competitors to prevent them from switching?

4GB Fido regular plan is like $75 on their website, I don't think they would jump $40 to $75 like that, as that would piss off a lot of customers and no one would ever go back to Fido.

was gonna switch to the Fido 4gb but realized I enjoy my grandfather 6gb more just because I go over some months.

with 4gb if you go over its $5/100mb I believe. thats like $50 extra for a gb lol :fuckthatshit:

PM offered a great plan and they're on the Telus/Bell network so reception is of no issue.

That could also just be your phone. With my s7 I get 2-3 bars on koodo with my nexus 6p I get full bars everywhere except inside my house.

I did hearing varying reports of the plan lasting anywhere from 6-12 months only. I did call Fido to confirm and they said the plan is as good as you hold on to it.

I've gotten 2-3 special plans before and had each for more than a year and never had them raise the price on the plans.

I've also had promo plans on Fido and have never had them fuck me over. They do it subtly but denying you new phones on grandfathered plans unless you upgrade your plan lol

Just a question for those who switched to fido. How is the reception right now? I havent been able to get over 2 bars consistently and my data doesnt work. Using Wind for now as I have 4 bars with them

Managed to change the in-laws plan to the Fido $40 plan without a hitch.
Paid the remaining balance contract and it was all done on phone within 30-40mins.

Sis on the other hand has been fucked over. Called on Saturday to have it changed, they confirmed her plan was changed, and now we check the online account and it wasn't upgraded.

And what's worse is the promo is done, but I called in to try to straighten shit out;
apparently the Rep that day, put in a note for the upgrade, but never completed it by failing to type in which line was going to be upgraded. (we have 4 lines on 1 account).

Now we have to wait for retentions and another department to call us back between 1-4 business days to see if they can retrieve the $40 plan.......

^they should be able to straighten everything out since it was noted and the rep did fuck up...but I could be wrong since it all depends on who you get on retentions..

on my "agreement" it said that if I wanted a new phone, I need to get a new plan.
So Im guessing this $40 plan doesnt qualify for any HUP.
Which is one way for Fido to get around if you really want a new phone with discount

You might need to call them. . I ported over from Rogers and was getting horrible speed and reception. Calls couldn't be made either. After they reset my line all is well again.

If they can't fix it just call in to cancel. They will transfer to retentations and just straight out tell them what's going on PM is still offering the same deal. They will get it fix.

Not sure if this will work but I complain on their FB page once and got what I want. But seeing how many people is shitting on their FB now due the the horrible way how Fido handle the $40 plan it might not be much help.

Something about resetting the network connection on their end. I've had Rogers do this before as well. Afterwards restart phone.

Yeah but I'm not with Fido and they won't give me that deal as a newcomer so I'm forced to sit and wait. Even though Rogers is the same company they won't offer anything close to that
