Local Winter Campgrounds

Hey guys,

Are there any good winter campground suggestions? I was looking at Cambie Creek in Manning Park, but apparently they are only a groupsite (minimum 15 adults). Would love to hear where you guys go tenting during the winter months.

I was up at jones lake last weekend.

The site isn't monitored after mid Oct so you need to bring your own wood, and haul garbage out. Was peaceful, maybe 10 other people in the site.

I did manning park mid October. Nights were -3 to -5 as the sky was beautifully clear. I'm not sure if you've done winter camping before but prepare more than you could ever imagine. You don't want to wake up at 3am being so cold you freak out

Any places to ice fish and camp? Like drill a hole in the lake to fish.

Probably need to head up-country a bit for that. Check fishing regs too, I know our lake in the Cariboo hasn't allowed ice fishing since it was re-stocked about 20 years ago.

Tunkwa and Leighton lake near Logan lake are both good for ice fishing, probably not for another month though.

dunno if anyone is interested, but selling my arcteryx altra 65 pack. orange color, short/regular size (i'm 5'10", no problems here)
used for maybe 20 nights total, no major wear, no rips, in excellent shape.
$200 firm. only reason i'm selling is because i want to replace it with a more alpine style pack. These are $500 in stores now, when i bought it i think it was $440+tax or so.
not too desperate for a sale here, so i won't really go down on the price. pretty happy with it, but i don't really have the space for two similar packs.

edit: sold

So you going to organize a group to go to cambie creek in manning park?
