Vintage Cookbooks Hello, My mother collects all sorts of vintage cookbooks. She loves cooking of all flavours and culture but is mainly into recreating old recipes from old time cookbooks, or lost recipes as she calls them. I love going round to hers for dinner – you get a history lesson with amazing food as she always lets you know what era and area the food comes from. Anyways, as it’s her birthday soon, I thought I’d buy her a couple of vintage recipe books to build up her collection up get me some tasty food to boot! ;). I found a great website with vintage cookbooks for sale and am going to buy a couple of them as a present for her. This Vintage Italian one looks interesting: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMj...YD3ow/$_57.JPG There are loads to choose from though, so the question is which era and type of cooking do people enjoy making and eating the most? Can you think of any classic must-have recipe books from say the 20’s and 30’s? Or later ones like the 60’s and 70’s that I should pick up for my mum? Thanks! |

Try Value Village in Queensborough or United Blvd. I recently downsized my mother and was taking stuff to Value Village every week. Two boxes of old old cookbooks were dropped at one of the locations |
