Recommendations for carpet installers? I need about 1100 sq ft of carpet in the upstairs of my home. 3 bed rooms, 4 closets, one hallway Anyone have any good experience with carpet installers? I know a lot of people who sell the carpet rape you with using their own installers, anyone know of a company selling quality carpet with good reasonably priced installers? Or is it best to buy carpet on my own and hire an installer? |
You might think there are huge savings, i would just pay the 'middle' man to get it all done. 1 stop shop, they carpet guy will YELL at the installers for me and I know who to chase after if shit show fails. I go to the Chinese places on Bridgeport road and they take care of it all. It's fast and easy. |
What do you consider to be a reasonable price? What type of carpet are you looking for? Builder-grade low-pile, or something more plush? We got Beaulieu, medium-pile carpet recently and paid about $2.20/square foot and got it installed for another $2.50/square foot. I think our labour rate was pretty typical, but the price we paid on the carpet was pretty good - even better than a place like the End of the Roll would offer. |
probably somthing slightly better than builder grade, probably along the lines of what you got there.. all areas are fairly high traffic so i'm kind of leaning towards a low-pile.. but then the medium feels so much better |
Late to the show, but if you're still looking for carpet check this guy out. Jim has been in the business for 30+ years. Sells everything from new to clearance to EOL carpets. https://homestars.com/companies/2152...ers-outlet-ltd I also have an installer if you're interested. Its my GF's dad, hes been doing this for well over 30+ years. Hes 60+ years old and still working hard at it. |
thanks i will definately shoot ya a PM once i've figured out what i want to do.. kind of a pain cause we have to move in before we can get the floor done so i'm kind of packing everything in one room antiicpating having the carpet installed |
