Is the ride really punishing? I love the look of these mk7s. Especially with the cloth seats and the golf ball shifter
Might just get rid of my ratrolla and get this instead.... Tempting.

I test drove one yesterday. Its literally everything I could want in an everyday car. Think of it as if someone took an STI and removed all of the things that sucked. If I get this for the wife though I can kiss the porsche dreams goodbye.

I went to the one on main street. They were super nice guys. Not pushy. They had a tornado red, DSG in the showroom. Me likey. I'd still rather have manuel though. Capilano they just ignored me. I mean, they probably know I'm poor, but most people buying new cars are. LOL @ the 84 month financing. What a nightmare.

^ 84 month terms are nuts, but the worst are the guys buying cars on their lines of credit. Talk about a true never never plan.

I always thought 84 month financing was for getting that lifted diesel dually to haul all the bitches to the mall

I just wish they stretched out the gti into the golf gti sports wagon. Id buy that in a heart beat.
I tried the sports wagon the other day and I found it perfect for what me and wife wanted. Sedated looks, roomy interior, panoramic sunroof and comfortable seats. I friggin love it... It just needed the gti's engine. Slap a stick shift on that thing I got my perfect daily commuter.
Base engine is a bit too peckish

^^ sadly they would never do that here, maybe Europe. Over in euro-land the focus ST has a full estate version, but of course we just get the hatch |

GF had a 15' performance pack MK7 with DSG....
we loved the car. (and im not a volkswagen guy...)
nimble, responsive and handled great... performance pack with the electronic dampers and that trick electronic front diff was awesome. Always puts the power down even though its an FWD.

^^ performance pack gti was within spitting distance of the golf r's MSRP.
i think the delta is a little bigger now, but last year when I looked anyway, there was no reason to buy the PP
Might be tough to find a new '17 manual R at this point. I'm planning on taking a hard look at the refreshed 18's when they arrive.

yeah.. we were looking at the standard brand new GTI five door at first...
then a performance pack came in on trade with only 12k kms last year.... so we pulled the trigger on the performance pack
traded it in two months ago... upgraded to a near new Audi S3 in Sepang blue
edit// https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/ctd/6112935036.html
6sp Golf R! im pretty sure there'll be smoking deals on the 17' as im pretty sure lots of people would hold back and wait for the updated 18'...... (that virtual instrument panel and bigger infotainment really updates the interior further...almost Audi Esque..)

Lets get some more hot hatch options over here first, then we can start working on wagons.
In the meantime there's only 3 proper posts on this page.
