^ Saw a yellow ITR in Victoria today. I haven't seen it on the road in forever. The owner used to post here way back in the day.

Put my Supra up for sale today.

It's been bothering me for a while but I'm curious:

Why do JDM cars like the Supra have cloth buckets but leather back seats? Is replacing the front seats a requirement for import or something?

They came with cloth front seats and leather rear seats standard. The vast majority of MK4 Supra's were delivered with this interior in Japan. I thought it was strange as well.

I don't believe they made a cloth rear seat. It was optional to select leather front seats or Recaro confetti seats. Leather front and rear was standard for North America.

It sounds really good on my desktop, at some point I may copy that setup for my RC haha. The Blitz exhaust is nice but not as nice as that. Are you running a BOV or is that the normal sound from a 4th gen?

One guess might be that Japan is a Buddhist country. There may be some aversion to leather seats for that reason. Also maybe the heat.

There was a class of untouchables in Japan (Burakumin). They were involved in leather tanning.

Thanks! Running a HKS SSQV 4. Didn't get a chance to hit the dyno, but hopefully will try when I'm back for the Ogopogo. Going to try and see if anyone else wants to go.

It sounds completely different from my SSQV for some reason. I wonder if there's something I can adjust to make it short and sharp like yours is.

^^ the hks ssqv has an insert (triangle shaped like the Mercedes logo) that goes in the opening, gives it the iconic high pitched fast and the furious sound, it's remove able so maybe yours just doesn't have it?

Spoiler!
