I think Jorge's learning curve on the new Duc is gonna be too great for him to win this year. I would like to see Vinales pull it off, but I think that's a crap shoot this season. Marquez is the obvious favorite but i'm really hoping Rossi can put up at least 1 more championship season. I'd say 5:1 for him is a pretty decent bet to place.

Marquez or Vinales.
If anything during the pre-season testing has showed us, is that Vinales is fast on the M1. But what we're yet to see is how he will do in race pace. Tire, fuel, stamina management isn't something in testing that we see.
Marquez did over 100 laps at Australia and had second fastest lap. During 2016 season we saw Marquez mature and understand that points are better than pushing for First every race.
2017 is going to be an interesting season with the new team matchups and KTM in the mix.
I'd like to see Marquez win, but I want to see Pedrosa and Crutchlow do well during the season. (Subtle Honda fanboy lol)

Is anybody heading to any races this year?

It's probably too late to get to Qatar for the opening round at this point. I desperately want to sit in a sanctioned VR section the next time I go ... the atmosphere looks amazing! I understand Silverstone is setting up a sanction Crutchlow section for this year's British race.

I'll be in Bologna during Mugello. Likely won't have time/tix to make it to the race, but I am hoping to catch it in a pub among some diehards!

I wanted to go to Assen or Sachsenring, but that's not happening anymore

What an entertaining race. Almost the best finish I could have hoped for. Felt bad for Zarco but what an impressive debut.

I purchased my VIP tickets from COTA directly instead of motogp.com. The COTA tickets cost roughly $80 more but it gives you access to the air conditioned suites above the paddock on Friday as well, whereas motogp.com only gives access on Saturday/Sunday. You can also go to the grandstands at T1 and 15, whereas motogp.com gives you the grand stands facing the start/finish line only.

Tickets for COTA VIP - $1300
Flight - $600
Hotel split between 4 people - $200 each
Car rental split between 4 people - $100 each

The VIP area is directly above the paddock, with AC, food and an open bar all day (beers are $12 bucks so I think we'll make a portion of our money back just from food and drinks lol). Dinner is not covered as the day ends by 5pm. However we got an invite from Yamaha for R1M owners to join them for dinner on Friday and a meet and greet with the MotoAmerica team, with a chance to meet the GP riders as well (650ib on youtube documented his trip last year and they got to meet Rossi and Lorenzo). Bringing my helmet to get signed for sure

and we're back from the Summer break!
Brno in the Czech Republic.

Very sad news about Ángel Nieto and his passing.
After a quad bike accident, he succumbed to his injuries.
May he rest in peace.

Free Practice, Qualifying, Warm-Up, Race. It was Marquez dominating the time sheets.
With the race as a flag to flag, the podium was up for grabs. Early in the race, pole position sitting Marquez quickly drops through the field. An early bike swap just after two laps allowed him to dominate on slick tires with a drying track.
Marquez, Pedrosa, Vinales on podium. An all Spanish podium and the first time Marquez and Vinales have shared the podium this season.

6th Podium so far this Season for Dani Pedrosa. I'm quite happy with how the Championship is shaping up.
