s3 is tiny comparing to the fusion, it has space similar to the a6. I'm not sure how big the current gen a4 are, but previously they were quite cramped
as for milage it really depends on where you are, and how you're driving.
I was on regular gas, it doesn't require premium.
the epa is rated at 13.5L/100km
But I do agree with the interior comments the dash layout is not the best.
That's what I got doing city. On the highway you are able to get better mileage.
In the city if I used the throttle heavier I was getting 17L/100km lol
Holy crap that mileage sucks. I get 19L/100km in my V8 f150 on 35" tires.. I really don't get why anyone would ever consider buying a fusion considering how much they cost. It makes for a good rental/fleet car though.
Maybe it's getting poor mileage due to the low temps and weather we've been getting lately?
Temp could make a big difference.

I would like to see you drive from new west quay, to metro at 9am and get 19L with 35" tires
These figures are from what I achieved, and my commute will differ.
Hmm...$44.5K plus taxes for it or ~$50K for a nicely equipped Audi A4 with an S-Line package that's just as fast.
I'm siding with Car and Driver that it's not that great a deal and less impressive than the specs.
Lol no one should ever compare Fords based on MSRP. Probably $5k+ of discounts on this car when employee pricing rolls around. Not to forget x plan and costco discounts available year round.

Who the hell would cross shop a Fusion with an S3? The latter is way too tiny. The Fusion is a family car, through and through. The whole point of the Sport is to have a performance version available for anyone who wants it. Sure a better performer than the Taurus SHO.
As for the interior? Yeah it's not very exciting considering it's an old design but even the RS Focus came out, they kept he old Focus interior. Not that I care about such things. These fancy over the top complicated vehicle systems are all planned obsolescence anyway. I'm not the target customer though.
Main thing I don't like is what I think is artificial exhaust noise pumped through the speakers? I might be wrong.
My brother bought one ($38k with employee pricing) and it's been good so far for him and his family. He hates SUVs and loves fast four doors so he spent a while looking for one and decided on this after reading up on it. More importantly, the wife loved it so....
Pricing is hard to say in the review as said above discounts and costco discounts makes this car a lot cheaper. 38k is a very good price for everything you're getting
