they said i was a loyal customer because I've been with them since 2015 and have auto-payment set-up haha

Hmmm I like the 7gb/$53. I currently have the MB/SK 5gb/$48. I'd hate to flag my account by calling in :/

i mean i don't have time to try multiple times but i think in BC on the big 3 networks, it can be difficult to do better than $10/GB data with ultd calls/texts

apple really needs to step up their game. between the issues with face id and the latest in a long line of problems with their updates it seems like they are really resting on their laurels and just mailing it in.

I'm thinking of buying the X from the States, but apple.com doesn't have unlocked X's available for order yet. Do you know if I could buy one that is locked to a US carrier, unlock it, and then use it here with Koodo? If so, which of the 4 US carriers should I choose? TIA.

I tried to do the same in Portland when I was there in early November. They wouldn't sell me one unless I got it on contract.

If you do manage to find an Apple store that will sell you one, go for the Verizon one as it comes unlocked out of the box. The Apple rep also mentioned that T Mobile is also unlocked out of the box but I haven't seen anything that says this.

Yes. If they're not, as of yesterday, carriers will unlock them for free.

I was planning on going to Portland to do what you did but it looks like I'll just wait until they make unlocked versions available.

Give it a try anyways. Couldn’t hurt. I went right after launch so theI’ll may have been limiting them at the time to keep phones for people who wanted a plan.

If it helps I went to the Pioneer Square location downtown.

You can do it already. Just pick Verizon and at the end of everything where it goes to "carrier activation", select "activate with carrier later" and you are good to go.

As long as you paid in full, it would remain as an unlocked unit.

Will there be any issues with Canadian networks and such, or is a Verizon phone completely unlocked to any network? (Sorry, haven't bought a phone in a long time. No idea how things have changed.)

What do you do with so much data anyways. I am on a 2Gb plan and hardly go over 500MB. There is WiFi at home, at work, friends place etc etc.......

I have a 6gb plan, and I'm hitting 5.5gb on average per month now.
I had to start using it up too. Use it or lose it, that's what the Rogers CSR told me on the phone.

5 years ago when I had 6gb rogers i could barely hit 2gb even if I tried

nowadays everyone's showing off their lunch on instagram/snapchat ...videos eats up data fast, and I haven't even started streaming music while in the car yet. Not much of a netflix guy.

my old work place didn't have wifi

I just went from iphone to android and encountered the same issue. Did a lot of research and in the end I had to use a third party software and it cost me 25 bucks... If you really really really want to keep your history it's worth it... but if it's not that important, save yourself some money.
