Apple is investigating a small number of reports of iPhone 8 Plus models “splitting open.” Details are scarce at this point, but reports indicate that at least two iPhone 8 Plus models have split open.

In one case, a Taiwanese woman’s iPhone 8 Plus “split open” while it was being charged with the official Apple cable and wall brick supplied in the box. The event occurred five days after she bought the device. According to local media, the owner reported seeing the front panel bulge and lift completely from the device after about three minutes of charging.

i picked up an iphone 8 plus two weeks ago, love it so far. except i tripped last saturday when hiking and smashed the back glass (it was in my pocket). pretty unhappy about that, especially the prices to replace the back glass

and apple was very proudly proclaiming "the strongest glass to ever be put on a phone" lol. never seen an android with gorilla glass have a cracked screen or case...

If you bought it outright and paid for it on a credit card, it might be covered under purchase protection for 90 days.

Lol I didn’t call for anything (other than the literal fall lol) I just didn’t have a case on it yet. Not worth the money to fix it, I’ll just wait til replacement parts are cheaper.

I kept my iPad Mini 2 & iPad Pro open & reload at the same time.
iPad mini 2 still hasn't able load up when I already finished my order on iPad Pro

I wonder if the lower capacity ones have a longer ship time because the 256GB are more profitable to build? I got the 64GB and ordered right as it came available at 12:04am on the app and I have the 21st-28th as ship date as well.

I did mine on an Iphone 6s lol on IOS 11, I saved my preference this morning as my favourite, when the store did connect i just hit the bag and pay no need to choose color or capacity probably pushed me ahead of the line.
